Lynn was close in only 8 games...

Most single-season rushing yards by a QB in SEC history:

1. Cam Newton 1,473

2. Lynn Bowden 1,468 ??

3. Johnny Manziel 1,410 ??

4. Nick Fitzgerald 1,375 ??

How any team allowed him to run is amazing. The guy had zero passing ability, but yet teams were still letting him run all over the place.

IDK if they were “letting” him run. He usually had to make 2-3 guys miss behind or near the line just to gain positive yards.

Cam is deserving of the record for many reasons, but had Bowden gained enough yards to take the record, he’d be at minimum, equally deserving, and arguably more so.

In any case, congrats to the kid and his team and coaches on a great season given the circumstances.

UK could easily have won 10 games this year had they played the first half of the season the way they did the second.

Yeah, winning a natty is undoubtedly more important than stats.

I totally agree, not taking anything away from Bowden.
