IF the SEC decides to expand, the first target should be UNC. This is a given.

IF we must stay at an even number of teams, then I would try for UVA first. After that, I'd rather have NC State than FSU or Clemson. I want some teams that add areas/footprint to the SEC and not teams in our current footprint.

Southeastern=Below the ohio river and east of the Miss river. I say they're a solid add. VT too.

Do yall realize that NCsT has exactly one 10+ win season in their entire FB history (in 2002), and have only won the ACC once in 1957, zero nattys. Any of the ACC schools (except maybe FSU and CU) would be cannon fodder in the SEC. None of these NC schools, nor UVA truly care about fb the way yall do.

I mean look at this. That’s even better than a UNC game but UNC has eyes watching all over the country vs NC State being a more regional power.

NC State likes football more than UNC. Crazy fact: Carter-Finley stadium would be the second smallest stadium in the SEC.

NC State is a public state school in a state of 10.5 million. 37K enrollment.

Duke is a private school with 16K enrollment

This is like comparing A&M to Vandy

Try again. Texas A&M has 70,000 students on campus in College Station.

If they added Duke (along with UNC), I think you’d then have to grab FSU and Clemson. Other than basketball, Duke is a liability. That said, you’d have the best basketball conference (Kentucky, Duke, UNC), football conference (Alabama, Oklahoma, LSU, Texas, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, Auburn) and baseball conference.

Let Duke rot in obscurity. Don't need them in the big leagues.

Notre Dame isn’t joining a conference anytime soon.

As much as most of us don’t like it, Florida St. and Clemson are obvious.

UNC would definitely be a target but academically/culturally could make more sense for B1G.

I feel like Duke adds more value than NC State because of bball but NC State fits the culture more.

In summary, SEC should add FSU, Clemson, UNC, and Duke/NC State if they want to expand further.

I say go back to 12 teams.

So you want UNC or NCST over Mizzou. Let's compare some fast facts:

2023 records:
Mizzou: 11-2 (6-2 SEC), Cotton Bowl victory over Ohio State
NCST: 9-4 (6-2 ACC), Pop Tarts Bowl loss to Kansas State
UNC: 8-5 (4-4 ACC), Duke's Mayo Bowl loss to West Virginia

Average attendance:
Mizzou: 60,169
NCST: 56,919
UNC: 50,095

Athletic revenue:
Mizzou: $141 million
UNC: $122 million
NCST: $102 million

Mizzou also has the same number of SEC division titles (in just 12 seasons) as UNC and NCST have in the lowly ACC combined.

What exactly does Clemson FSU and or Miami do for the bigger picture? They’re in states we already have a foot print in.

Sure they’ve had some good seasons here and there but they’re not as big of needle movers as they think. Especially Miami. Hell they’re down there with Duke when it comes to big players

They have large fan bases, and historic programs. Getting those 3 teams make the SEC even more competitive (Miami is on the come up).

You don't need to be a national conference like the Big10, we are litterally sitting here arguing about what teams to scoop up from a failing national conference (ACC). If the SEC were to expand, I think those 3 teams and NC would be great additions.

If the SEC were to expand into north carolina I would take UNC and NC state and big no to Duke.

I've read some of the comments on this thread one's that talk about Missouri not being southern you should look at Duke there's nothing southern about them at all.
