I like this arrangement. I was much more of a pods fan than this wild, wild West arrangement.

The problem with pods is simple.

Alabama has to play Auburn & Tennessee
Auburn has to play Alabama & Georgia
Georgia has to play Auburn & Florida

Solve that puzzle ^ and pods will work for all other teams.

I think the biggest problem with straight East/West divisions, is that LSU would have to play all of us over here, and forego many of their traditional opponents.

WEST
Texas
Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Missouri
Arkansas
LSU
Ole Miss
Miss St

Okay, maybe I used a bad example, but I'm sure there are some in your fanbase that feel that way.

There isn't a solution that is going to make everyone happy.
Someone will always complain, or at least that's the way it appears.

The 3/6 model is the best I have seen, especially if it is crafted in a way with balanced scheduling.

8 teams on 1 side
8 teams on the other

1 Perm from the same side = 6 to rotate
2 Perms from the other side = 6 to rotate

Simple schedule. You play same side or other side + perms.

Add Texas to the West and OU to the East

The problem is you then play the other division 2x every 14 years.. but that's basically what they have been doing the last 12 years.

9 game schedule. 1 permanent rival from other side.

In your example, if LSU and Arkansas had joined and as a result, we weren't going to play Baylor & Texas Tech every year anymore, while you may be okay with that, Baylor & Texas Tech most assuredly wouldn't have been okay with that.

Let me speak for the group here when I say this. Nobody here gives a shite what Texas fans think about this topic. Yall are the new guys here and your input means nothing.

Doesn’t mean we don’t like having Texas in the conference it’s just annoying when the new guy comes in and acts like he knows what he’s talking about

The elite teams so far in the SEC are:

Missou

Lololol. Missouri has done nothing to be considered elite. Even Ole Miss is a stretch. Based on this season so far, not a single team has an impressive win yet in the SEC.

What do you call these? The WEST except LSU division, and The East with LSU division?

That's no way to treat your conference champion.

However good or bad you think they are look at this schedule and find me the losses?

Vandy
@A&M
UMASS
AU
@BAMA
OU
@SC
@MISS ST
ARK

I see one highly likely loss, three games they'll be one possession favorites and a bunch of gimmees.

I'm not arguing Missou belongs talent wise with UGA, Bama, Texas, Tennessee or Ohio State. But if they end the season 10-2 with losses at Bama and South Carolina they're in the playoffs.

Like it or not, 10-2 in the SEC with a playoff trip is elite. If they had UGA's schedule they might be a 7-5 team, but it is what it is.

Put OU in the East with Texas as their cross-divisional rival.

Then why not just leave them in their own conference? If we're gonna invite them, we have to integrate them.

Well we all still want to play them we just don’t want our schedule to seemingly feature them more than founding members. There’s 4 expansion teams. I only want to see 1 on my schedule per year.

It’s the SEC. They could lose to any team on that list, but OU and A&M are definitely not automatic for this Missouri team.

So what does a 8 or 9 game schedule look like for the 4 new schools using this scheduling format?

I agree. Missouri is losing one of these two. More likely to OU.

They have been battling OU hard for recruits lately. OU has been their big brother historically very similar to Texas with A&M in how Missouri has been in the SEC and seems to have their shite together only for Big brother to come in and spoil it

1. This may be a one-year-only anomolay.

2. Yes, it feels weird when from time to time you remember, "oh yeah, we don't play Mississippi this year" or "we don't play Bama" (really miss that latter, honestly).

3. Regardless, the SEC is so full of shi&% anyway with regard to their scheduling- they made the limitations of Division scheduling far worse by refusing to ensure equitable scheduling. They could've done a lot better I know since A&M and Mizzou were added. I don't trust them.

4. Would be very easy to make pods that protect everyone's top rivals and still ensure you play EVERY team twice in four years home and home.

Everybody just jizzes thinking about pods. I swear some of you lay in your bed at night thinking of pod structures.

Does anyone own a map? Take ALL human reasoning out of it. Humans screw everything up.

East/West. Draw a line. Move on. Damn these overthinking fanboys.
