Kendall is a Joke Check the D1 rankings:

1. Texas
2. Clemson
3. Oregon State
4. Florida State
5. Arkansas
6.Tennessee
7. LSU
8. North Carolina
9. Vanderbilt
10. Georgia
11. Auburn
12. UC Irvine
13. Oregon
14. Oklahoma
15. UCLA
16. Arizona
17. West Virginia
18. Alabama
19. Louisville
20. Troy
21. Coastal Carolina
22. Southern Miss
23. Ole Miss
24. Georgia Tech
25. NC State

IMO, Alabama should not have dropped that far. They could have easily swept LSU this weekend. And Florida State, at 4, being swept by a Florida team in the bottom half of the SEC standings is laughable.

RPI noticed even if the other polls didn't.

Alabama was 16 in the average polls last week. They are 16.8 this week so far.. I think some of the drop was coaches actually looking at ELO or RPI and making adjustments.. across the board.

Alabama was 15th in D1 poll last week. 18th this week.

What do yall think the number of SEC wins needed to make the tournament and how many will be needed to host a regional? Just wondering where the bubble will possibly be.

13 wins is usually the magic number to make the postseason but teams have gotten in with 12 wins and a strong RPI.

I’d say you need at least 16, maybe 17 wins to host.

13 wins gets you into the tournament if RPI is respectable. 14 wins is automatic.

Right or wrong, it's possible they punish teams with Missouri on the resume.

Team A 13 wins (didn't play MIZ) > Team B 14 wins (who played MIZ)

Not saying this will happen, but it's possible. They are that bad.

eta: the Math

Team A = 13-17 = .433 win %
Team B = 11-16 = .407 win % (without Missouri wins included)

This actually makes the most sense. Not everyone can be judged the same with them on the schedule.

We close the season with Mizzou. This will surely affect our post season even with a sweep.

I don't see us getting to 13 though. We could even be the team to slip up and give Mizzou a win which would obviously tank our post season options.

All that said, we don't deserve a spot in the post season. Need to just end it and get the firing/hiring process done asap so new coach can start shopping the portal.

I think the committee will look at the SEC a little different this year than past years with the addition of Texas & OU. Not so much on the # of wins, but where you end up in league play.

I think 4 SEC teams will be National Seeds, so just end up as one of the top 4 teams and you are good to go there.

As far as being a host from 9-16, I think SEC teams that end up in the standings 5-8 will host regionals for a total of 8 SEC teams hosting.

I think at the minimum 3 more teams get in, but likely 4 more for a total of 12 SEC teams that will make the tournament.

Yes. I just created and posted this graphic to the OP.

Not completely sure about it yet, but the basic premise is that each team is expected to go 2-1 at home and 1-2 on the road.. so a team with 2 road series in their last 3 would be expected to go 4-5.. and if they won 5 games, they would be +1 for the last 3 weeks.

I have removed the Missouri series and updated the graphic.

Georgia is 2-7 in their last 3 series.
Alabama is 3-6.

Our pitching will definitely be challenged this weekend, especially with Spencer out..

Aggies have been hitting the shite out of the ball the last 4 series, but their pitching shite the bed in the Kentucky series.

It looks like their pitching gives up about what is expected.. so I'm guessing Texas averages about 6 rpg. Can we hold the Aggies below that this weekend? We shall see..

The numbers listed are actual runs scored/allowed vs that opponent.. compared to actual runs scored/allowed vs all other opponents (not including Missouri)

eta: It's very possible I made a mistake in these calculations.. so if you see something, let me know and I'll fix it or explain how I got it.

I come from the future.. Missouri has..

Since 2000, the lowest win total I found was 5.
Vanderbilt 2000 (5-24)
Georgia 2010 (5-23)
Alabama 2017 (5-24-1)
