Refs got that Bama call right

At first I thought it was blown call, and as much as B12 screwed us the past 2 years I’ll take it. But then I read some info and found out it was the right call. Here it is from others, it was illegal illegal touching
—-
The ref explained it wrong...but someone show me the eligible wr on the top of the formation? There isnt one..the TE is covered up by Williams. It's absolutely an illegal formation: By. The. Rule.
As soon as they try to throw..its a foul
——
Is it illegal formation or illegal touching? Illegal touching would be the call if it’s a legal formation, right? Illegal formation is not a loss of down, illegal touching is. So the incorrect call cost them a 4th down play, but no TD either way.
——
Correct. The lineman didn't declare and because they attempted to pass...as soon as it was thrown the play was illegal. Thats why the flag was late. If milroe runs its fair game, but with a pass it's illegal.

You’re right, it’s an illegal formation as soon as the ball is passed (that’s why flag came when pass was thrown)
It became illegal touching when that receiver caught it, that’s why there was the referee discussion.

So there you have it, it was the right call. But beyond that, OU dominated the game. We left at least 10 points on the field as well. I screamed all season to run the ball. Our fired OC was trying to make a freshman QB pass focused. Yet with our D we needed to run and grind and let our D get fresh time iff field to be lethal.
Last night showed me what an even average offense can do to our D. We dominated both lines of scrimmage too. And most of our line is freshmen. Had we run all season we likely have 3 more wins and woulda been 9-2. But sometimes you need adversity to get better.
Anyone screaming for Brents head needs to see the players never quit on him. This was the most exiting home game since 2003 or so. Kids made memories. Bama has been the top dog for so long and some said Vandy was flukish and Tenn was close. We put an exclamation point on them last night one of their worst losses in some time. Parity is here and every season is going to see comers and goers. Bama is beatable and OU showed how to dominate them last night
I want to say, all the Bama fans in the game thread last night were classy and took their lumps gracefully. I hope those who came to game had a great experience besides the loss. Its great to have games like this in Norman and also our road game venues are great too.
Whats strange is due ti RRS in Dallas when we are home game there we only get 3 games in Norman. Next year we are away team so we actually get 4 true Norman hime games (Aub/Mizzou/OM/LSU). And away at Tenn/SC/Bama.

He tried and failed lol!
Also, beautiful Pick Six! I should've watched more of that game.

I noticed time after time Milroe wanting no let of tackling or being tackled by OU defense I think we hit him hard to many times that night . Kip Lewis is a beast .

Hey Milroe, it’s football not futbal.

If it's an illegal formation, the flag is thrown as the ball is snapped. Not long after the play starts.
If it's illegal touching, the flag is thrown after the receiver touches the ball, not before.
The penalty was also called personally on #2, Ryan Williams.

Typically I’d be all in to comment on whether it was good or bad, but Bama has gotten so many beneficial calls/no-calls over the last 15+ years that I don’t care if they get 10 bad calls a game for the next decade.
Good. Karma.

Yes, once he touched the ball its illegal touching.
The flag was thrown once he passed bit once touched it became illegal touching.

Haven’t seen a QB make that weak of an effort in quite a while..

The flag was thrown while the ball was in the air.
How can it be illegal touching before the guy even touches the ball?

That's not an illegal formation. It's an unbalanced formation.
College football doesn't have the "declare" rule.

Ya’ll being hard on Milroe but he is a good passer. He had zero time all night and your oline needs some blame. We kept him pressured and not comfortable. He also had wrs drop some good passes. Our D is good when complimented and rested. First game all season we got some O help.

No, it was illegal formation for a pass so the flag. That would have got you a redo. But then the touching happened and thats loss of down.

Again, the flag was thrown before anyone touched the ball.

What I wanna know is do we play Nebraska or USCw in a bowl game. Both are compelling matchup potentials.
