Stop being dense. Diversity isn't segregation.

This was a xenophobic comment, not a racist one.
That being said, I'm sure the Barner that said this was also racist, and bonus points, a Trump supporter.
But let's not compare this to the actual racist shite that occurs in this country on a daily basis.

Maybe I'm confused as to what you are referring to then. Can you link? Is this something that happened at Auburn?

I watched and don't really have much context. Did this happen at Auburn? Not sure why there a designated area in the first place?

Really dumarse comment, IMO.

quote:Your guess is as good as mine. Apparently it's a "multi-cultural" hangout on campus, which would imply people from all cultures are welcome. I found it odd too, because that would imply the rest of the campus isn't, which I'm certain is not the case. But you don't need much more context than the contents of the video to see the blatant racism and a clear call for segregation of the student body within that campus.
Not sure why there a designated area in the first place?
Imagine a white person getting up and saying people of another race were making them uncomfortable and requested them to leave the building. They'd be expelled that day.

Segregation is still alive and well in many cities, and if you don't realize this then you are either living with your head in the sand or don't get out much.
It's not as institutionalized as it once was, but it's most definitely still a thing.
There are even still schools that are unofficially segregated.

Which comment? The one where I probably correctly assumed this guy was a Trump supporter? Do you think that is incorrect?

But sure, being from Mississippi, I'm sure you see more than the average US citizen. That doesn't entitle you to speak for the whole nor does that make your anecdotal experiences the norm.
