Question about SEC ticket allocation 2024

Have searched, but can’t find an answer.
I remember when A &M came into the SEC they had to reallocate their season tickets to adhere to the SEC rules about tickets given to visitors.
Texas only gave Alabama 5000 tickets for 2022, all upper deck and Alabama reciprocated in kind 2023.
I know that Alabama allocates visitors tickets to visitors in the lower bowl, with the exception of Texas this year.
Anyone know how the SEC allocation currently works for SEC and how it will work with Texas and Oklahoma coming in? 5000 uppers isn’t going to work.
P.S. planning on taking a trip to Norman in November and generally am offered tickets to every away game (no Texas 2022).

I believe it’s an SEC rule that each school must provide visiting SEC schools with 8500 tickets.
I know Auburn had forever had a secondary deal with both Alabama and Georgia for an extra 1000.
I’m not sure about the lower deck…. I think there is a rule where at least 500 or so must be in the lower deck but I don’t know the exact number.
Years ago, every SEC school allocated at least a few thousand lower deck seats for visiting fans. Those days are gone. Of the big stadiums, LSU is the best at still giving some lower deck seats. Bama is by far the worst.

Not sure how many tickets UK allocates, but we do have a lower section for visiting fans in the corner.

Looking for it and ran across a few things regarding current conference game requirements that may change for Texas and Oklahoma:
Student Sections. The home student section must be located on the opposite side of the field from the visiting team bench; or if located on the same side as the visiting team bench, the student section must be located from the 30-yard line toward the goal line. Any student seats located toward midfield from the 30-yard line may be no closer than 25 rows from the field. It is recommended that the visiting team should not be required to enter/exit the field in close proximity to the home team student section.
Tickets. There shall be a Letter of Agreement between participating institutions on the number of tickets to be exchanged. The host institution must provide the visiting institution a minimum of 2,000 tickets located in the lower level of the stadium, of which at least 1,000 tickets must be within one single block. After August 1, a visiting institution may return no more than 1,000 tickets for credit. Within 30 days of the game, no more than 500 tickets may be returned for credit. Within 14 days after the game, a maximum of 300 tickets may be returned for credit.
Non-Conference Scheduling. Each institution shall play at least one additional game each year against an 2023-2024 SEC COMMISSIONER’S REGULATIONS (UPDATED: 8/1/23) PAGE 71 COMMISSIONER’S REGULATIONS FOOTBALL opponent from either the Atlantic Coast Conference, Big 10 Conference, Big 12 Conference, Pac-12 Conference, or Division I FBS Independents (Army, BYU, or Notre Dame).

Ticket allocation is around 10 percent for visiting fans with like 2000 in the lower bowl. I think Bama and Auburn each allocate 15 percent for lower bowl to each other.
Texas and Bama will have to adhere to SEC policy now where they didn't this past year.

correct, they don't get to skirt the rules just because they're new. Granted I'm sure they will provide the absolute utmost minimum lower level allotment, which I guess makes sense since most other schools do too...but they are 100% going to have to provide lower level seats for visitors.

Bama allocates the mandated amount of 2K. Same as every other school. Games I've been to in Baton Rouge LSU doesn't allocate any more than that either. Nor does A&M, UGA, Florida, etc. This is the biggest myth in the SEC and totally false.

Auburn is one of the few that still gives a majority of the visiting fans lower bowl tickets. Most are in sections 36and 35. All others are on the same side but upper deck. Most other schools put the visiting fans in nose bleed seats.

LSU allocates 3K in lower bowl and 3K in upper decks

The issue is going to be the schools breakdown with priority. Players family, athletic support staff, faculty, students, scholly donors, next level donors… 10,000 tickets go fast. Especially when the scholly donors want to take the entire family. There is nothing left after that but big bucks via a ticket site.

20 years ago I sat in the lower levels of all the schools when the ticket allotment was larger. I have 38 years donating right under scholly level. Since expansion of stadiums and the conference I sit in the top rows of the upper decks at away games. Increased support staff, etc….
It’s a bitch!

Whole UT band was lower deck and there were others in that area also. More than 500 b/c looks like Viles band has 300 at least

Not positive, but believe Texas had to adhere to the Big 12 rules about ticket allocation. Alabama got the same lousy allocation of tickets that was the same for Big 12 conference games. Visiting team bands were all in the upper decks for all of the conference games for several years. The Big 12 conference schools would have howled had Texas changed the allocation for Alabama. They were, and still are, angry because Texas is leaving the conference for the SEC.
