Do you honestly think Ole Miss would be able to recruit Black players if they hadn't made all those changes.
Because conservative, white, alphas don't seem to be very good at producing football players any more except for punters, kickers and the occasional QB...
I miss Colonel Reb as much as anybody... And Ole Miss doesn't seem the same without the statue at the entrance to campus...
But from an athletics standpoint... I certainly understand why those things aren't there anymore.

I dislike the 8 game conference schedule. Look forward to it being 9.
I dislike how Sankey tries so hard to get as many SEC teams in the football playoffs as possible. I know this will possibly get me banned but I think College Football is at its best when all regions are represented. Having 8 out of 12 SEC teams in the playoffs hurts the overall health of the sport.

They’re basketball players now

Actually, most Alabama and Auburn fans have more in common with each other than they don’t
Now LSU fans…

Real ones know that crystals is the hot sauce for raw oysters. Actually all seafood while tobacco is for land food

Spoken like someone who doesn't have a meaningful rivalry game

You are correct, but the topic is unpopular opinions .

Columbia, MO feels more “southern” than College Station or Austin, TX.
It is perfectly acceptable to put a can of diced tomatoes in gumbo, like the okra they will cook down and mainly act as a thickener.
Chili absolutely has beans. The best chili has at least two kinds.
Tabasco sauce is not the end all, be all hot sauce. Except on raw oysters.
Pulled pork was what God intended barbecue to be. You do put sauce on it and you do put pickles on a pulled pork sandwich. The sauce should be bullseye original or sweet baby rays. Not some vinegar or mustard abomination some of you try to pass off as barbecue sauce.
Watching football on TV > watching football live.

They were some, cold, shitty road trips, though.
Ames, Manhattan, Lincoln, Stillwater, Norman are not like Oxford, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, Knoxville, Athens.

Watching football on TV > watching football live.
Watching a bad game live is the shits. all you think about is the time and money you wasted, and you can't wait to leave to get back to your comfort zone.
Oh, but the good ones are special. You will always remember the special plays.
Seeing the whole field, and watching a play develop, knowing the guy is going to score before he touches the ball or takes 3 steps. You don't always get that on television.

I’d only care if the SEC lowered its standards and admitted a city school to the conference (e.g. when Louisville joined the ACC).

salary caps my guy. even if every player has to go to a pre season combine to be awarded a certain score and then your cap is a score ..basically a performance based cap where you're evaluated pre season
each team can have a roster of up to 10,000 points and every player is given a number of points for his recruiting grade and then the sophomores are scored on their pre season combine and their season of play if they got on the field. do that every year for every class. it would be fantastic and fair

Texas A&M is neither a cult nor gay and the posters who say so have small wewees.

That’s different. Clemson’s like Auburn. When I think of city schools, I think of Houston, Cincinnati, Louisville, and Memphis.

If it's an important game, the best seat is at your house but, way back when we were good, I liked watching the "weaker" SEC games in person. Mainly for the pageantry and getting back on campus.
I think the seats matter, though I'm sure some disagree.
It's just hard for me to get as enthusiastic when I'm trying to make out who caught the ball as opposed to seeing it in 4k from the comfort of my living room.
