I've never understood the logic behind this...team A grows grass out to slow down team B.....that also slows down team A.

That wasn't sod. That was a shite littered cow pasture and an embarrassment on national television.

OUs O isn’t fast so the effect is disproportionately greater to the Vols. It backfired to a degree or maybe it the trade off but OU piled up injuries from the stunt.

Are you implying that is the normal condition of your field and it wasn’t a bush league stunt?
If you could read you’d see I covered this already.
1. Our great groundskeeper took a job at a high end golf course in late spring
2. Been in drought here over 40 days of no rain (ironically Norman got 6 inches of rain today). The grass was completely redone last year with most modern grass for fields.
3. New grounds guy likely overwatered and then couldn’t mow timely due to weekly schedule (with gameday there were time restrictions on working the field). In the rush I think he didn’t plan the week properly
4. Not as bad as said. Not as good as our last guy but he’ll learn. OU injury had nothing to do with field. Don’t know of any ground caused injuries. Just some slipping issues but likely since we played a team not used to our field they came unprepared for options of cleats. Has anyone inquired if they had other cleat options?

Yep, AU just spent millions putting in a computer controlled vacuum drainage system with sensors that water, heat and cool the field to optimal levels.

OU did everything they could to win this game and got their d!cks knocked in the dirt

That’s a great explanation if the other home games at Okie saw the same conditions. They didn’t, so back to bush league stunt. I guess Okie counts in base 24 so they decided to honor their 2000 national championship team last week has a purely explainable ironic coincidence.

Yep. Pure chicken shite moves out of OU. I wouldn’t expect anything else out of that trailer trash of a state.

You really are bad at reading. The field was brown week prior (compared to normal). Fans complained. New field guy likely overwatered to get greened up (also in drought).

This is last year with prior groundskeeper after resodding:

Nooo we saw what bringing shitty programs to the SEC means last night. Less competitive games, crappy fields, unsportsmanlike play with random fall downs. Why would we want to add another OU/Texas caliber program like Tulane?
That sounds like a mistake that shouldn’t be made at this level.
The field is bad right now. Never seen it like this.
Also seems like they added a layer of sand. I would assume they wait for a bye week to overseed the Bermuda with ryegrass.)

Yet Pokie State runs an artificial turf field. They do engineer great sod though.

It seemed slick yet looked dry. Saw tons players inexplicably lose their footing. Our field in November sometimes resembles what the Somme must’ve looked like

We use Tahoma31 which most SEC has I believe. This is one year ago summer 23:

If it makes a fast team slower, are you suggesting it makes a slow team faster?

We certainly had the issue against Tulane. It was worse that week.
Others said they’ve noticed it all year.
Doesn’t seem to be a stunt although the new guy should be fired.
The drought arguments is weak. No major university relies in any way on natural rain. If Norman had a watering restriction they would truck in water.

Do they? The turf that was heavily criticized during the Super Bowl in Phoenix was an OSU created Bermuda hybrid.
Turf people pointed out that that turf that you saw was actually ryegrass with the new Bermuda being dormant. The whole thing was a cluster so it probably wasn’t the cause of the hybrid variety.
But this year makes me wonder. I say go with trusted hybrids from Georgia.
