We’ve been jilted before, Kevin Durant bailing but it still sucks. However, why I’m not too concerned is because our decision maker is athletic director Joe Castiglione. He’s two for two on OU head football coach hires. We’ll be fine in the long run.

Kevin Durant played at Texas.

OU hasn’t won a championship in 20+ years.
You’re not fine.

He also played for the Thunder

Did you forget you were joining the SEC?

I thought OU had its own basketball team?

They should had won more national titles in the Big 12.

OU might be fine next year in B12. This is a borderline disaster from a recruiting standpoint getting ready to head into the SEC.
You really have no idea.

Meh. The SEC is top heavy. We’ve been competitive in most games , even losses , other then LSU when they had their once in a generation QB and have since slunk back to mediocrity. And OU is a one of only a handful of blue blood programs.
Plus, we’ve got Castiglione calling the shots.. We’ll be just fine.

I thought you guys were bringing in Big Game Bob. Sounds more like you're bringing in Baghdad Bob.

This is such a lame arse take. OU has been the epitome of consistent success since Bob Stoops took over.

The only people that care about blue blood programs are blue blood programs. Nobody else gives a shite.

Yeah, maybe for an Ole Miss fan.
Celebrate your 10 wins for the first time ever and leave the championship talk to the big boys.

Enjoy your current dumpster fire.
I'm stoked because this will be our 3rd NY6 bowl. Ole Miss is trending up while you can't even find a coach interested in taking millions to live in Baton Rouge.

Actually, the SEC is the least top heavy and most widely competitive conference in the country.
More than any other conference, the SEC consistently has ranked teams outside of its top 2-3 schools. Moreover, the SEC holds the best bowl record against other conferences due to the performance of its “lower” ranked teams.
Yes, OU will be beaten by Bama, UGA, LSU, and UF (once those latter two schools become competitive again in two years). However, it will also be whooped by frequently ranked Auburn, A&M, and Kentucky teams. Hell, even Ole Miss and Arkansas are ranked this year.
Top heavy? No sir. Even our mid level teams are laden with 4-5* recruits and NFL talent. Schools like Miss State would beat most of the B12. Good fricking luck in 2023.

I forgot LSU football was invented in 2000. Here is a list of LSU's ten-win regular seasons before 2000:
1908
1958
LSU wasn't a powerhouse.
The attempt to dog Ole Miss about that stat is fricking lame, especially considering teams never played 10+ regular season games for most of college football hsitory.
Why don't you try and find a coach before talking shite to fans of much, much better teams?

I love when the SEC Rant tries to pretend 20+ years isn't a big enough sample size
It must suck knowing that your best head coach of all-time is dying to get out of Oxford

Sure, 20 years is a big sample size. You said OU sucks. I said look at their past 20 years, which objectively shows they don't. You're just trolling with shitty takes at this point. Enjoy the rest of your coaching search.
