100% agree. All these clowns crying that it's "ruining the game" but every single one of them would take a check for 1 mill over anything.

Thank you. That’s proof of why I’m not a big fan of the On3 NIL valuation. Never seems to line up with reality.

Too much focus on social media followers imo. If I were an athlete, I’d just buy a bunch of bot followers

What UGA doesn't do is change gameplans to optimize player performance, which in turn lowers individual player's brand

I mean, it looks like Georgia has three players in the Top 50, with a value of $665K-$1.1M each.

Not exactly chump change for a college kid.

Again, this isn't just on-the-field performance, it's social media exposure and publicity.

For example, LeBron James' son is still in high school, but he has 12.4 million followers, which translates to advertising dollars.

Yeah, they indicate a caveat that "it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date."

I guess in this case, if Oscar did do those recent commercials, it would be reflected in a later valuation update.

Not sure how often it changes, but they do list +/- swings, so it must be revisited periodically.

Stetson Bennett just dropped his flip phone last March. So there is that...

Don't get me wrong, we're not ignoring NIL. We just aren't changing who we are to make it easier for players to get NIL deals. For UGA it's kind of outside the football program, not ingrained into it.

I don't think Bama is necessarily changing either... but Bama tends to run things around a few top players now rather than spreading things out like they used to 10 years ago. That focuses stats on a couple of top receivers or RB (Metchie, Robinson and Williams last year)... which for NIL purposes is a plus. They also run less ball control which means more stats for everyone.

UGA's style isn't great for NIL deals. Spread the ball around, build depth and salt away wins once ahead big = less stats = less publicity for players.

Under valued for the exposure and lifting AU gymnastics to a premiere level.

They obviously have some Olympic-level exposure, but when you think about it, it's pretty amazing that two collegiate gymnasts (both in the SEC) have millions of followers and could earn millions of dollars each, while still in school.

Athletics aside, you have to really admire them for establishing their brands like they have, and seemingly representing their programs so well.
