And your point is?

It's always been the poster child for what Dixie stood for. It remained a poor state with very few economic options, and people have been slower to transition to a different culture. Like, real slow.

The interview was BS. He completely misconstrued the “protest”. Anyone and any group has the ability to file and stage a march or rally on public campus and the KKK got their attention and publicity. The school couldn’t stop it from happening and 99.9% of students were there to boo and yell at them to go away. Students were not out there in support of the f’ing KKK

Not gonna say he is right, but just going to say I wouldn't be surprised if he was.

Perception is often more than reality. Mississippi did itself no favors by being the last state in the nation to abolish the Confederate flag from its state capital. That was in 2020. When you hang on like a bulldog for that long, people are going to talk.

We should bring back Dixie and Colonel Reb and frick everyone that thinks otherwise. I'm done cowtowing to racism claims. You get rid of everything, change in every way the PC police want you to... and guess what... the claims are still there. So frick em. Bring it all back.

But don’t let that distract you from the fact that LSU’s mascot comes from the name of a confederate regiment

If Texas had caved in and stop singing The Eyes of Texas - there would be 10 more complaints today about Texas traditions.

I'm sorry for Ole Miss.

Yeah why couldn't they have transitioned to a different culture faster, like Chicago or Detroit? The great migration did wonders for those cities.

Why stop there? Name big cities in this country that are not in crisis mode. But in the deep South and specifically in a Southern State like Mississippi, your history walks through the door before you get there. Perception is still a belief.

Part of Mississippi still had public school segregation into the first Trump term. Brown v the board happened early in the first Eisenhower term
