Only thing that gives me hope is they don’t have a defense either.
Looking forward to a classic 72-66 game.
We could combine our defenses and still not have a very good defense

I'll take 9-3 today. Gotta get either A&M or Arkansas but sure can't lose both. Forget Bama and then cap it off with a win over State. This is doable, but we'll have to be better than we were in the 4th quarter Saturday.
P.S. - This rational conversation is refreshing. Not always the norm on this board.

I think that Lane Kiffin has Ole Miss football at its ceiling,
I think Kiffin could get them winning more but no other coach in the country could get them where they are now.

We lost our OC, DC, strength coach, Matt Corral, Elijah Moore, RB 1 and 2, all our LBs, our best pass rusher, and more. Replaced most of the with transfer portal guys and high schoolers.
The fact that Lane has us in position to even be disappointed that we didn’t win in Tiger stadium despite losing all that is really mind blowing. I think aTm is winnable and if you told me were a win away from entering the bye week 8-1 during the preseason I would’ve taken it in a heartbeat.

Since we are breaking in a QB who replaced Matt Corral and have a new DC and OC I would call that rebuilding.
Agreed. But with our reliance on the portal, every season is going to be a "rebuilding year." It's going to be our new excuse, like how Tennessee was a young team every season from 2007 - 2020.

Mid-season hype blinded us to the reality of the situation. Going 10-2 or 9-3 after losing all that is not something we are used to. Would be awesome to see us elevate the “floor” to 8-9 wins as long as Kiffin is here. Lot of season left to play.

Those Tennessee teams weren’t going 10-2 though. A good QB in place and RB that can carry you things change fast. Tennessee (this year), LSU (2019), UGA (Kirby), Auburn (cam) are all perfect examples of how you can make the “jump” with the right QB. Not saying we will win a natty under Kiffin but damn he’s the closest chance we’ve had in the modern era. Kiffin will figure out high school recruiting if he stays here for a few more years.

I think they’ll win in College Station, they are an awful matchup for A&M.
I have them losing to Bama and losing to the Hogs in Fayetteville. Just don’t trust their defense against those two offenses. The Arkansas game is just a crazy one every single year, but I like the Hogs to win at home.
Egg Bowl is the difference in 8-4 and 9-3. OM is probably the favorite in that game as of today. But it’s definitely loseable if State’s offense finally figures out how to not be a disaster on the road.

I think A&M blows them out this weekend..Achane is going to run wild on that D.

"A&M blows them out ......."? The aggies' offense is horrible, with any of the 3 QB's. They have yet to score more than 25 points against Power 5 teams & only scored 17 against App. State. That poor of an offense will give the Rebs too many possessions & the Rebs can score fast & in bunches.
