But, he never had to practice in high school as he was a man among boys he apparently took the same attitude with him to college.

Interesting. that would explain some things.

My dad took me to a spring game or public scrimmage one time and I'll never forget dad pointing out a big dude in jeans and a purple polo shirt standing back of the end zone and telling me that's a bigtime recruit and wondering if he was hurt because he's not playing in the scrimmage.

Correct. Should've listened to his mother and went to State. They were running the wishbone with the inventor of the offense, Emory Bellard, as the Head Coach. He would've been close to home, which would've been huge for him, and been a beast. However, he listened to his uncle and Ken Fairly who were in it for the money and not for Marcus. OU offered the best deal and they took it.

The thing is that it would have been dumb to run the wishbone with Dupree. You don’t want to share his carries with two others.

If you notice in the video OU was not in the bone that year. They switched to the I to focus on Dupree.

Given, Switzer said switching was a mistake but that was because he learned after Dupree left that you can’t make wholesale changes for one player.

Very common back then. They had NIL decades before anyone else. Absolute rogue program perfected by the bootleggers son.

That was going on long before Switzer.

Marc Wilson says he had a teammate that took a pay cut to come to the NFL.

He was a young kid who didn’t have a good work ethic, Switzer was too hard on him too quickly. The people in his ear who just wanted more and more of his money started turning him against his coaches. If Switzer would have handled him being a young player better and helped him adjust to college gradually, he would have probably kept playing and been a heisman at OU.

The 30/30 piece never mentioned that part
Were you asleep during that part? Because they did mention it and Switzer even said he was probably too hard on him

Interestingly enough... The book referenced earlier in this thread..."The Courting of Marcus Dupree"...written by Mississippi native/University of Texas graduate/Ole Miss faculty (at that time)...

He says that his sources said that OU did not offer anything illegal to Dupree upfront.... and that according to his sources none of the big schools did because the NCAA was watching his recruitment so closely.

Texas did actually got cited for buying Dupree a pair of boots on his visit.

And you’re stupid enough to believe that because you want to believe that.

Switzerland admits that he did dirty shite. Remove your head from your arse.

oU is the dirtiest program in history. It makes SMU look like BYU.
