When you take a piss, aim for the middle.

I've lived in OKC, Tulsa, and Austin. Actually have degrees from OU and Texas.
All cities have positives and negatives. But three things are true:
(1) OKC > Tulsa
(2) Austin is cool, but nowhere near as cool as Texans think (shocker there)
(3) The college football experience, which OP should care the most about, in Norman kicks the shite out of the one in Austin (edit: much like the college football team from Norman kicks the shite out of the team from Austin almost yearly)

Riverwind Casino in Norman for table games, Remington Park in OKC has a decent horse track that runs through December. Plenty of eats and drinks on campus corner if you want to stay in Norman. Lot of folks go to the Library. Hideaway pizza is another popular one. Downtown OKC area has more hotel and entertainment options. From Norman its 30 min drive on a good day. There are usually plenty of Ubers on weekends, but can get spotty the further out you are, especially after the bars close.

If you want restaurants and shite to do, stay in downtown OKC. Uber there and back. I’m OU fan, went to the UCF game last year with the wife and met some friends at a tailgate. We stayed at the national and it was nice. Getting an Uber took 20 mins when we were leaving but we didn’t give two shits.

The National is awesome. Another awesome hotel is the Skirvin. Both have a lot of history and nostalgia.

This Underground Bar In Oklahoma Is Like No Other Place You've Ever Seen
During the summer of 2022, a new underground bar in Oklahoma opened that’s unlike any other place you’ve seen. The Library of Distilled Spirits in Oklahoma City is located in the basement of the historic First National Bank Building inside an old bank vault.
They celebrate craft cocktails with over 200 classic options plus they offer 1,500 distilled spirits, including many rare and fine spirits, making it one of the largest curated collections in the country. It’s quite an experience visiting this underground bar and we think you’ll want to visit after seeing it below.

That part of Oklahoma is the cultural epicenter of our society. From world class museums to elite restaurants to upper crust art galleries, Paris, London and New York don't come close to Norman. You will have your breath taken away by majestic landscapes and first rate architecture. Make sure you have your affairs in order before making the trip because you will want to drop everything and move to there without ever going back home.
