Planning on making the trip out to Norman in October for the Oklahoma-South Carolina game.
Any recommendations for some first-time visitors?

That part of Oklahoma is the cultural epicenter of our society. From world class museums to elite restaurants to upper crust art galleries, Paris, London and New York don't come close to Norman. You will have your breath taken away by majestic landscapes and first rate architecture. Make sure you have your affairs in order before making the trip because you will want to drop everything and move to there without ever going back home.

I chuckled, but it got a little tardy at the end.

How will you be traveling here? Flying in or road tripping?
What kind of transportation will you have while you are here.
How long are you planning to stay?
Do you have a hotel booked yet? If so, is it in Norman, OKC or elsewhere?

How will you be traveling here? Flying in or road tripping? Flying for sure.
What kind of transportation will you have while you are here? That's undecided. We might do a car rental or just rely upon UBER. Kind of up in the air right now.
How long are you planning to stay? 3 nights. Thursday to Sunday.
Do you have a hotel booked yet? If so, is it in Norman, OKC or elsewhere? Looking at hotel options in OKC. We know someone with a condo in Norman that will potentially let us stay there, but they are working to confirm if it's available for that weekend. If not, then we'll stay in OKC.

Your sarcasm aside, the late great Hoyt Axton referred to Norman, OK as "the cultural center of the Universe."
Good enough for me.
Good enough for me.

At least it isn’t full of pretentious homosexuals like Austin

Sounds like what Austin claims it is.

Thanks, Gator. And thank you guys for firing the equally pretentious Dan Mullen.

If you are coming on Thursday...
The typical deal is to do OKC stuff on Friday and Norman stuff on gameday.
OKC has the Cowboy Museum, a pretty good Art Museum downtown, and the Bombing Memorial Museum.
Several "entertainment" districts surround downtown for eating.
Norman has the Art Museum, the Dinosaur Museum and the Switzer center... if it is open.
Campus Corner and Downtown are the places for eating establishments although there are a bunch of others out by the Interstate.

I would rent a car vs relying on Uber unless all you want to do is hang out around downtown OKC.
The OKC metro is really spread out. OKC is the 3rd largest city in the country in terms of square miles.
If you confine yourself to downtown, there are plenty of restaurant and bar options. Keep these areas in mind: Bricktown, Deep Deuce, Midtown and Automobile Alley. They are all close to downtown. Some within walking distance depending upon where your hotel is.
Many visitors like to go to the stockyards area and have a meal at Cattlemen's Steak House. You will need a vehicle to get there from downtown.
The 2028 Olympics will be in OKC - not kidding. I believe the rowing and kayaking events are scheduled to take place here. We have a world class facility for that stuff that is just south of downtown. Go check it out.
Take a ride on the Bricktown canal.
If you are into rodeo, go 30 miles north to Guthrie's Lazy E arena. They're hosting a calf roping competition on Friday night. Have dinner at world famous Stables in Guthrie.
On gameday you definitely want to roam the OU campus, the Campus Corner area, and cruise the tailgating areas. People will welcome you for sure.

Norman has the Art Museum, the Dinosaur Museum
aka the Sam Noble Museum of Natural History and it is great, especially if you have kids in tow.
Highly recommend staying at The Noun Hotel in Norman. Easy walk to campus, the stadium, and Campus Corner.
Plenty of good food in Norman -
Campus Corner has all types of American, Asian, Mexican, pubs, pizza/italian, etc. Mostly local places, not chains.
Norman also has local gems like Benvenuti's, The Ranch Steakhouse, Land Run Grill among many other local places, plenty of large chain restaurants and a surprisingly wide variety of asian food.

A seven word sentence and this waterhead has to edit it.

Definitely go see the bombing memorial, at night. I’ve been there twice, and it was a powerful experience.
Bricktown is cool. Don’t know if it’s still open, but Toby Keith’s place was good.

If you have some time to waste you can go here for some info. The link goes to restaurants and bars section but you can go to forums to find other info. Its mostly focused on OKC but does have region covered pretty well. I’m not a member but from past reading the site leans left so just be aware. They don’t allow politics bit you can tell how people write opinions where they stand. However it has a few decades of info so can find a lot if you look.
