I don't believe it is relative to teams outside of the SEC, but compared to other SEC teams it was pretty easy.

It’s a bad conference. The fact that a group of 5 team came in and made it all the way to the CCG before losing to another acc team really says it all. That’s terrible. That would be like UL Lafayette joining the SEC and making it to ATL their first season. Their conf champ lost both games that they played against SEC teams, one by more than 4 TDs. It doesn’t help that FSU, Va Tech, and North Carolina are so bad.
SMU might get in but it won’t be b/c anyone actually believes they are better than Bama or even South Carolina. They would have 5 losses if they played either of those teams schedules. But this is just how college fb is now. People complained about the BCS and then 4 team playoff, but now every year we are going to have to hear the complaints of some cheesy big xii or ACC team who didn’t play anyone but feels like they should be in a 12 team field b/c they only lost 2 games.

Yeah I don't even have that much of a problem with it. At the end of the day, the playoffs are a national event - it can't just be an SEC tournament.
Alabama had their opportunity to get in and blew it.
