Bull fricking shite. The batter doesn't have to move at all. It was an inside pitch and the catcher he moved to his left and then threw over Eibner.

So you are saying, the catcher went into the batters box to throw down to 2nd?

Contact was made, Eibner, although not INTENTIONAL was over the plate after he struck out and interference was called. Correct call.

And it has nothing to do with Eibner being 6'4"

He was definately over the plate when the catcher threw down to 2nd and made contact with Eibner. That equals interference.

He had one foot that just came out of the box because he was off balance from swinging at an outside pitch. Eibner barely had time to duck if he had realized what was going on.

He didn't walk forward. He didn't lean to get in the way. He was off balance and his step caught him. There was little he could have done. It's a chicken shite call to make.

If Eibner doesn't move, there is no call. BUT HE DID MOVE.

One poster said he was swinging at an outside pitch, and he was off balance. One said he swung at an inside pitch, and the catcher came through the box to throw down.

I guess we all saw different things.

No he doesn't.

(c) He interferes with the catcher’s fielding or throwing by stepping out of the batter’s box or making any other movement that hinders the catcher’s play at home base. EXCEPTION: Batter is not out if any runner attempting to advance is put out, or if runner trying to score is called out for batter’s interference.
Rule 6.06(c) Comment: If the batter interferes with the catcher, the plate umpire shall call “interference.” The batter is out and the ball dead. No player may advance on such interference (offensive interference) and all runners must return to the last base that was, in the judgment of the umpire, legally touched at the time of the interference.

Moves out of the box. And you idiot know what I am talking about. He moved forward and was over the plate when the catcher threw down to 2nd.

Our team needs to forget it and get ready for tomorrow night. We need to control what we can control, tonight we had some pretty bad base running and a few errors.

Here is what you posted. I can't help it if you can't properly construct a sentence to convey what you mean.

If I remember the pitch, it was that outside corner changeup. Eibner swung for it and missed, throwing him off balance leaning towards the other batters box. As his swing came back, his foot came out to catch himself.

The catcher got up and threw the ball leaning himself towards Eibner to make sure he was "in the way." The throw wasn't even close because he didn't even try for it to be close. The fricker was halfway to the dugout before the ump finished making the call.

Eibner did nothing to move into the way other than stopping himself from falling, which is easily described as a natural motion to swinging hard at a pitch you try to reach for. It's a horseshite call.

You don't see that as a fair call. If it had happened to LSU you'd be livid. It happened to us TWICE.

AZ St had to get only 2 outs TWICE in that game.

That combined with the stike zone was complete horseshite.

I don't bitch about officiating. Review my post record.

Tonight, it was completely fricked.

Yes I am in FULL Agreement that the strike zone was not good.

But the game wasnt won or lost on that one correct interference call.

I do not hate Arkansas.

I was pulling for Arkansas today. I want 5 SEC teams in Omaha.

The umpiring tonight was horrible. But that one call was not.
