New Rivalry?

Are Tennessee and LSU the best current rivalry in baseball. The coaches hate each other. The fans hate each other. The players hate each other. Right now both teams are holding serve at their home field. Tennessee has beaten LSU in the SEC tournament championship in 2024 and the super regionals in 2021. LSU swept Tennessee in Omaha in 2023. LSU represents the old silver back premier program in the SEC and Tennessee are the cocky new kids on the block. With both these programs winning the last two nattys its hard to say who has the upper hand so far this decade with Tennessee narrowly having more wins. All jokes aside a bitter rivalry like this is good for the sport and will only grow viewership. Hard to find a better rivalry then this rn

It's a fun series. I pretty much view all SEC schools as rivals. With so many good teams in the league, it's really difficult to pick one or two as rivals IMO.
Eta: If we did pick one, I'd say it's probably Florida.

Friday was a toss up game and Saturday was a toss up game. Got blown out on a rubber match Sunday. I think both Tennessee and LSU fans felt this series lived up to the hype trolls aside. Gators should just worry about getting to .500 in conference before commenting on other threads

Ok and LSU has never beaten Vitello in Knoxville? Numbers can paint any narrative but the fact is these programs hate each other at this moment. Rivalries are about hatred and the want to win at any time you are on the same playing field, which these two programs have rn. If all time numbers and titles were all that mattered then games like Bedlam and Egg Bowl and Iron Bowl wouldn't matter. Right?

There is something about Jay and Vitello’s personalities that you can tell they just don’t mesh very well. I could be completely wrong on that just the feeling I get. And I love it lol it’s always a series I look forward to.

Application denied…every Tennessee fan I met this weekend was very pleasant and they received the same back from us. We fed a bunch of them.
