This is different. From SBJ:

News: WME Sports and Underdog Fantasy are teaming up to create the “Underdog Rivalry Cup” — a Ryder Cup-style golf event raising money for NIL collectives at Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Michigan.
Captains will include Colt McCoy, Sam Bradford, Jake Butt and Bobby Carpenter.

Honestly an incredible idea.
Feel bad for whoever gets paired with Bobby though. Dude doesn't shut up

Texas Tech booster just gave a million dollars to a Stanford softball pitcher. Doesn't matter how much people raise for NIL, the price of doing business will continue to go up.

Yea, heard a rumor two days ago what auburn paid for the commits over the weekend. If that number is true then it’s already beyond absurd. I think the answer now is make them employees with a union to be able to regulate it somehow. That would also bring a governing body into it called the IRS that won’t frick around.

No idea the details but if they get enough known names then it could be live streamed or picked up by someone like espn3 if they think enough would watch. That in turn gets sponsors.
And will they split it 4 ways or will it be winner take all?
Sam is a good golfer too.

More from ON3:
Dubbed the “Underdog Rivalry Cup,” the 27-hole, Ryder Cup-style golf matches will begin this fall. NIL collectives at Texas (Texas One Fund), Oklahoma (1Oklahoma), Ohio State (1870 Society) and Michigan (Champions Circle) are all participating.
Led by WME’s NIL division, the event will include head-to-head golf matchups. Texas and Oklahoma and Michigan and Ohio State will face off. Teams are being led by All-Americans and former college stars Sam Bradford, Jake Butt, Bobby Carpenter and Colt McCoy.
Sponsorships will drive NIL dollars, along with school boosters having the opportunity to participate in the event. With plans to make this a reoccurring event, the Texas-Oklahoma match takes place at the Omni PGA National in Frisco, Texas. A location for Michigan-Ohio State has yet to be announced.
“I can’t wait for this Ryder Cup-inspired experience to have my Longhorn team line up across from our fiercest rivals with bragging rights and NIL funds for student-athletes on the line,” McCoy said in a statement. “Competition brings out the best of us and I’m looking forward to October 10th.”
Michigan beat Ohio State for a third consecutive season in 2023, while Oklahoma knocked off Texas 34-30 in the Red River Rivalry.
“There’s nothing that brings me greater pride than beating the team up North,” Carpenter said. “I’m fired up to show them once again who runs this rivalry.”

Huh, would think bigger schools like that wouldn’t have a problem raising the funds. Seems like an idea better suited to smaller schools that need a boost to the money coming in for NIL.
