Jerry Kill is a guy who looks like
he just walked off of Duck Dynasty.
To put things into perspective , NMSU has
an overall win/loss record of 440 - 664.
The past 20-years before this season , NMSU
had only two winning seasons and by
one game each.
Last season , with a 6 & 6 record , NMSU made
it to the Quick Lane Bowl and Kill promised
if they won , he would get a massive tattoo on his
arm. They did , he did.
"I didn’t preach that we were underdogs, I didn’t say we couldn’t beat Auburn, I told them we were going to, this is how we’re going to do it ....follow the same principles. And if you do that and you don’t turn the ball over, you win. And we didn’t turn the ball over."

If my coach told me he would get a tattoo for winning a bowl game, then followed through with it; I would run through a brick wall for him

NM State was the more talented team.

They were bigger and stronger than Auburn. Just bullied them.

But your coach slow dances with recruits. Isn't that better?

Pretty sure NMSU coach and I shared a suitcase of Busch Light together at the racetrack.

Looks like the buddy you’d call over to help change out your transmission.

He’s a legit coach. I didn’t even realize he got back into coaching. I remember he had a number of health concerns back when he coached Minnesota but it’s good to see him doing a great job at NMSU.

Also, lol at Auburn for getting blown out by NMSU.

Now Pator Mike, shame on you for derailing this thread.

Go back to preparing for your sermons.

Also, it's Sunday. Are you in church or backsliding?

Definitely has an impressive resume with multiple rebuilds and flat whipped our arse yesterday. I liked the way he handled the interviews and he has full buy in from his players. Impressive coach and solid team.

And that’s the key and sign of a very well coached team. I was in the stands yesterday and assumed the typical patsy team mistakes would bail us out.

But they never made a mistake. No poor decisions by the QB that led to an INT. No running backs fumbling. No blown coverages. No muffed punts. No shanks by the kicker. Very few penalties.

They had one fumble that probably should have gone our way, but in reality, the forward progress whistle had already blown.

Big time programs need more coaches like Kill. Hard nosed dude who coaches good football. Reminds me of Kirby.

That win over Auburn was a nice payday for Jerry Kill.

$25,000 for beating a P-5 opponent.
$35,000 for winning a 9th game in a season.

His base salary is $600,000. In Las Cruces, NM that’s called baller money.

100% true. They were better coached and played with more effort too.

He is the real deal. Hard to believe he has pulled this off despite major health issues that caused him to have multiple seizures, including during games. Kill is lucky to be alive, and here he is doing fantastic at what is historically in the running to be the worst FBS team of all time.

Kill was diagnosed with adult epilepsy which forced
him to retire from Minnesota. He also was diagnosed
with kidney cancer , had a portion removed and
has been in remission since. Kill's been able to keep his epilepsy mainly under control , he says , by
taking better care of himself --- lost weight , more sleep , less stress and changing drugs to
treat it.

Impressive guy and turnaround he's done there. Seems like an impossible place to recruit to.
