BREAKING: The NCAA Division I Council approved a rules change for NCAA Baseball that allows programs, beginning in August 2025, to have 35 days (before the season begins) to get in 27 practices. Currently, it is essentially 18 practices in 21 days. More ramp up time is coming.

Sounds good to me. Was there any particular reason for the arbitrary restriction in the first place?

Meh, shouldn't make any difference. The first two months are playing cupcake northern teams that need the weather to play. By the time conference play starts usually the injuries are stacking up.

I see it different. Pitching is the difference. You now have more days to pace them into the season. Current rules might make coaches push them too hard too fast. Just my opinion

This is correct. You give the pitchers a longer time to stretch out. Will help a ton
