Border War incoming
I know all you baws like a good old fashioned, hate-filled rivalry, and no rivalry will have as much free-flowing hate as this border show down. The hate-flow will reach '93 Mississippi River levels by the end of the summer, leading up to the September 6th kickoff at Faurot.

Along with Ak(ANGRY kansas), I'm sure there are some posters here who would like to see Mizzou fall to their rival. For instance, those who refuse to accept Missouri as an SEC team will likely be rooting against Mizzou. That's fine. Just understand that rooting for kansas is the same as rooting for the Union army. No, worse than that! You are rooting for a group of domestic terrorists, known as "red legs"! They were the original ANTIFA, and everyone hated them, including their own mothers (they referred to moms as bitches).. Hence this clip from Josey Wales:

I dont think people in Alaska even care about this game. I personally would root for Missouri in this game though.

You have a rivalry with Alaska? I'm guessing air rifle? Man, I tip my hat to you. That is going deep in your list of opponents.

I applaud you for the sheer pettiness of hating the Nanooks or Seawolves.

Ak(ANGRY kansas), in this context, is a person that exists here, and likely only exists here.

Ah, much more understandable. I would hate to think you're all in against the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

Honestly, and I'm not saying this to knock the MIssouri/Arkansas series, would you guys prefer to end the season playing the Dirty Birds across the border?

I mean, I like the Union-bashing, but on the other hand, it’s a Mizzou/Kansas thread.

If we are looking to maintain that last week as "rivalry week" and kansas is already on the menu, then yeah, it makes more sense to have them at the end of the season. We've got 4 games scheduled with them ('25,'26,'31,'32) so that would have to become an annual game. I think we'd be good making it an annual thing, if they are.

I wouldn't want to move the Arkansas game. I want the ku game in the middle of the season.

Thanksgiving is a weird time for rivalry games imo. The holiday, students not on campus, deer hunting, etc. The Mizzou students need to be on campus to get a full indoctrination into the hate level required for the most sincere hatred between two states and fanbases.

Current students have no clue and need to be on campus for it.

The sad thing is, IMHO, that Missouri was more than willing to keep the series going. And now Kansas would kill to have Missouri on the schedule.

I think the Jayhawks realize that now, but they are dealing with the juggernaut of SEC scheduling. Schedules aren't set out years in advance, unless you are dealing with the bum of the week programs, they are set out a decade in advance.

Easily the greatest rivalry in the country in terms of its actual historical significance.

An irony to the rivalry though is that while Lawrence was known as a Union town full of northeastern Yankees (thus Quantrill burning it down)...

Columbia was also a Union town... with the Missouri Tigers protecting it from the marauding Bushwhackers...

Even Quantrill and Bloody Bill refused to attack Columbia.. Despite the fact that the counties around Columbia were some of the biggest Confederate supporting counties in the state.

Those cheating m'fers took a national championship ring off my dad's finger, but alas they did win that game. Not a man on the 1960 team accepted the forfeit win. "They beat our arse" is what they would tell you. My avatar is a pic of Dad sacking John Hadl, from that ill-fated day.

As someone who is connected to a lot of rivalries, I can say that the pure hatred KU and Mizzou fans hold for each other is underrated.

It should be a good game, and I’m glad it’s happening.

I have cousins in Kansas and they hate KU too. K-State fans.

I hope you beat KU like a rented mule.

The only time I cheer for KU is when they play Duke or NC in basketball.

But watch out the KU team is conditioning running up and down Mt Sunflower.

Why are you so obsessed with Mount Sunflower? You’ve talked about it numerous times.

They'll be training on Mt. Sonsofbitches this summer.
