I honestly feel sorry for Mizzou fan. There's not one school, possibly one fan, that wants them in the SEC. They don't fit in culturally, and they are clearly sub-par in athletics. That is not their fanbase's fault.
I hope there's some way they can get into the Big 10 and be happy.

The funny thing about that is there's A LOT of schools/fans that don't want to JOIN the SEC. Mizzou, aTm and WVU were the main schools making it public about wanting to join the SEC.

Yet those same fans either "refuse to acknowledge" the SEC or look down upon the SEC as "academically inferior" or "dirty".

Very true. Plus there's a reason the SEC is just now getting a damn network. They sure as hell wouldn't be getting a SEC Network with FSU, GT, Louisville, etc. The SEC had to EXPAND to NEW territory to get a Network. VT, UVA, UNC, NC State weren't talking about joining the SEC in the past 2-4yrs. If it weren't for Mizzou and aTm the SEC would STILL be without a main TV channel like the BIG and Pac 12.

I mean it's nice having games on ESPNU/ESPN, but the BIG and Pac 12 network blows that shite away. Hopefully the SEC network will be like the other two.

ETA: is the Big 12/ACC going to get a network, haven't heard anything in regards to them.

They should. Their school and program would be a perfect fit up there. They'd also be pretty damn competitive in short order IMO.

In order to do that, there are two schools (one in each conference) who have to scuttle their exclusive deals with certain networks.

For some reason I think Mizzou would have the same record in football no matter if they were in the Big 12 or Big Ten. And they would have gotten smashed in basketball playing in either the Big Ten or Big 12 conference. Hell this year was considered a down year for Mizzou basketball and they went undefeated at home. Having a team full of transfer would get you smashed in most conferences unless you're UK or have a top class coach.

SEC Brotherhood isnt about picking your brother up when he needs a hand it's about kicking him in the balls when he's down (see Bama pre-Saban).

I think the real SEC Brotherhood comes during OOC and bowl games. Make a bowl game, and every person that gives Mizzou a hard time on here will be rooting for you to destroy someone else, but if you lose you'll recieve the complete opposite for embarasing the conference.

And yet, everything we bring to the table makes the SEC a better conference overall.

Hopefully we can help you guys (y'all) out, and eventually go to our rightful position in the Big Ten.

This ACC move makes it more and less likely.

LOL@ what the ACC did. Looks like the SEC won't be getting a FSU, GT, Clemson, UVA, VT, NC State or UNC anytime soon.

I don't have any problem with Mizzou but as previously stated they just fit better in the B1G. Plus their sports would do better from the get go

So if we went to the BIG, then half O-line wouldn't have gotten hurt in preseason and our QB wouldn't have suffered from returning from shoulder surgery?? We would have lost many games in any of the 5 major conferences last year. Glad you're just another in a long line of people speaking with zero knowledge of what they're talking about.

If Mizzou decides to leave, part of their buyout will require that Kills remains in the SEC because of his awesomeness

Stop using facts,

Funny thing about that is they knock a school for wanting to JOIN their conference, bring the conference MORE money, bring in a TV network(considering how much they talk shite on ESPN). Strange. It's not like all these schools are banging on the door to get into the Mighty SEC.

National Championship will only get a conference so far. SEC dominated college football and the Big Ten and Pac 12 still have a better TV package.lol. With the expansions going on, the Big Ten would have eventually picked up Mizzou for the $$$$$. There's a reason why Slive got to them even though Mizzou sucks. I'm pretty sure most of us know we'll be going to 16 team conferences. It might take 10yrs or longer but it's going to happen. College sports is a BIG business.

ETA: I heard Nebraska is the main reason why Mizzou didn't get the Big Ten invite. Remember reading about NU didn't want MU coming along, blocked the move.

Well, to be fair, our practices did become SEC level football after we joined. If we'd have gone to the the Big Ten it wouldn't have happened.

Time for a Sig change.

Good point. Mizzou fans should search for SECr post following tFlagship's loss to tOhio State in 2010

I'm pretty sure we probably don't go to 16 team conferences now. College athletics seems to be one facet of our society that tends to be conservative.

Nobody wants to take the big step to what is likely to happen, especially the powers that be at the networks.

Besides aTm, Mizzou has been the biggest prize on the conference realignment table that actually came true. Be glad you got both the big ones and leave us the frick alone.
