On the way home from Tuscaloosa Saturday night, I listened to the Missouri radio broadcast of their game against Arkansas. Not once did the PBP or color guy whine about a call or criticize officiating. It was the least biased radio team I think I’ve ever heard. They were level headed about the good and bad for Mizzou. Is this normal for them? I’m used to listening to the radio teams bitch and moan about literally everything because there’s no way their team could do something wrong.

Mike Kelly is PBP, Chris Gervino color. Yes, and to be perfectly honest, most (not all) Mizzou fans are similar. I've noticed that's not the norm here, however.

They do a pretty good job, IMO.

I'm probably the exception but I really want to hear announcers that objectively counter my emotional response to officiating.

It's a less stressful to accept that the majority of questionable calls even out and you only notice the ones against your team than to feel like there's some conspiracy against you.

There's also that missouri message board called tigerboard that looks like it was designed by a 5th grader who just learned COBOL where EVERY loss is the fault of the officiating. Is that where y'all stash the majority of the nut jobs to keep them from the general public?

While the design is horrible, at least the navigation makes no sense at all.

I'm sure pigs have lots of evenhanded game observations on your message boards. Tigerboard sucks donkey balls for many reasons, but yes, the format is ancient and shows how lazy the owner-operator is.

I invite you to cruise the various forums at hogville.net and bask in the rational, level-headed intelligent give-and-take among the Razorback Fan Brain Trust.

Kinda reminds me of Auburn's Stan White before he retired.

Even when I watch the game on TV, I mute it and listen to the radio broadcast. They are very professional and we are lucky to have them.

Living in St. Louis, I have the misfortune of occasionally listening to the SLU Billikens basketball on the radio. Those guys epitomize homerism and whine about EVERY single call.

Kevin Harlan is my favorite Mizzou announcer but Kelly does a nice job. Calls the game without interjecting a lot of personal opinions, fandom.

MU is lucky to have both. Mike Kelly does a great job calling a game.

Oh yeah...Mike Kelly will flat out say when Mizzou is playing terrible. Gervino, the color, is a pro.

Mike Kelly, from what I remember, was offered a job as the play-by-play man for the Boston Celtics. But, you know, east coast sucks.

Dude, Tigerboard is a cespool of people bitching about the officiating. People on there honestly believe we are world beaters, at least some do

Other people want the coach fired after losing a game.

I don't go there often because of all the blaming the refs talk.

We lost the Arkansas game because we didn't play defense worth a damn. Simple as that. And Arkansas shot well in the second half. It wasn't the refs.
