You allow the media and a few message board fanboys to cloud your judgement. One team wins the natty in the end. Texas is coming off one of its worst decades in program history. We are back to competing and in the convo but real fans didn’t have us number 1 last year with a rookie qb nor did we think he was a lock for heismann. Only people looking for clicks thought that.
We think we have a chance to win and be in the playoff and we have proven that the past 3 years. Beyond that we haven’t even been to a natty in 20 years so we know it’s difficult especially with NIL and the transfer portal

I haven't met a Nebraska fan that has any illusion of where there program is at. They don't like it, but they know. I'd have Tennessee over Auburn. Auburn has a football title this century and a men's basketball championship appearance.

It is kind of funny being an OU fan and having encountered Nebraska fans for all those decades...
In the '70s and '80s is when they were kind of developing this "Nebraska Nice" thing... but it wasn't full blown yet.
In the '90s they had developed it pretty much fully... but behind it was this smugness that they were going to....or just had... kicked your arse.
As they have declined it is funny... for the fans... they have almost gotten to where "Nebraska nice" is the priority... since they aren't dominant on the field anymore.

LSU has three national titles in football in the past 25 years, Only Alabama and Ohio State can make that claim. We aren't delusional. We just have expectations and our history validates that those expectations are realistic.
I think the SEC Rant is more representative of delusion.

I don't find Auburn a reasonable pick.
Loyal? Ok. Delusional? Not really. Among all of their horrible characteristics I would assign them, delusional is not one. They know exactly who they are, and that's about the one thing I do respect about them.

I think most UF fans are settled around the 6-6 or 7-5 mark. We used to be insanely homer, but now...we just go with the flow and hope we do not need a timeout after a commercial break on offense.
