MBB Grad transfer deadline changes (NCAA rule changes from last week)

Apparently MBB grad transfers, who previously didn’t have to adhere to a portal deadline, now have to be in the portal by May 1st.

I wonder how many additional personnel the NCAA had to hire to monitor the transfer portal traffic?

That’s a much needed ruling. Grad transfers shouldn’t be holding schools hostage with the threat to transfer at any point over the summer. That’s what JQ did last year to Bama.

I didn't realize till yesterday that the transfer portal only works one direction, you have to say you are interested in transferring out by May 1st, but never have an end date on transferring in. I suppose you can wait and choose a school into October. I guess it's an avenue of collecting bids and going with the highest bidder by, I don't know, January maybe?

I like the rule change. Seems like a common sense move.
