Memphis has high rates for all the violent crimes considered for 24/7 Wall St.’s rankings. It has the sixth highest rate in the country. Incidents of violent crime in the city dropped slightly less than 15 percent between 2009 and 2010 though. Memphis Mayor A C Wharton attributes this decrease to Operation Safe Community, a citywide plan developed in 2005. The plan consists of a number of strategies meant to increase crime prevention, through toughening punishments for criminals, and the effectiveness of the city’s legal system, through changes such as expanding court programs so that they operate consistently and at full capacity.

By calling message board posts ignorant and stupid.

Rather it's flame, serious, or neither, it's a message board. Context is nowhere to be found.

So wait, wait, wait, wait...

You're saying that because a post is either 1) a flame, 2) serious, or 3) neither, that they are impervious to ignorance or stupidity??

Oh my God. Thank you. You just made my day.

High five, pal.

From msnbc:

7. Little Rock, Ark.
Population: 192,922
Violent crime per 1,000: 15.2
2010 murders: 25
Median income: $38,992 (22.3 percent below national average)
Unemployment rate: 6.8 percent (2.2 percent below national average)

Little Rock has one of the highest rates of aggravated assault and forcible rape in the country. Since 2009, reported assaults has increased while reported forcible rapes have decreased. According to Lt. Terry Hastings of the Little Rock Police Department, quoted by local station FOX16, Little Rock was “down almost 12 percent across the board on crime” in 2010. This may be accurate for many crimes, and especially nonviolent crimes, however, according to FBI data, violent crime increased from 2009 to 2010.

funny...BR is not ranked. Hmm...

Despite not being ranked, there were drastically more homicides in Baton Rouge than Little Rock in 2010.

Yep, that's the cool thing about the interwebz. Informed posts can be wrong and uninformed posts can be right. Serious posts can be flames and flames can be serious. There is no winning, only losing. You lose when you mad.

Thus is the interwebz.

1. This is not WMS/DV, this stadium is nice

So Arkansas fans have been saying for years.

quote:

it is not nice only because you have not defaced or destroyed it, yet

That's good news.

quote:

The stadium should be in the same shape as you it was before you arrived once you leave after your short stay.

Don't underestimate us. (Speaking of garbage - is it OUR fault WMS is a heaping pile of garbage? Or are some f*cking AR-Kansans at least partially to blame?)

quote:

2. Tailgating is not a college frat party with a contest of who can get the drunkest. Remember you are in public in a nice city, leave your drunkard ways back in Red Stick or we can and will move you back to a suitable venue in Little Rock.

I'm a teetotaler. However, LSU fans are considered the nonpareil for southern tailgaiting. Hate the game, not the playas.

quote:

3. The world is not your trash can, pick up after yourself.

You have a point there. However, everybody except the US military and Boy Scouts of America are colossal pigs (or "Hawgs" if you will), so I'm sure we're no dirtier than you guys.

quote:

4. Be respectful, you are guests in the great city of Fayetteville, nobody owes you anything.

No clue what you're talking about here, buddy.

quote:

5. There are hills you will have to walk, if you require a hover-round because your diet consists of all foods fried, you may want to stay at your swamp shanty for this one.

Wow. Taking that loss back in November pretty hard and personal, still, I see.

quote:

6. Dixon street is not Bourbon Street, the hookers and blow are not hiding, they are not there, be advised.

Yes they are, you just have to know where to look. Knowing is half the battle, DD.

quote:

7. There are several nice places to stay in the area, if you can not find one it was because you couldn't afford it.

No there isn't. It's still Arkansas. The one "mulligan" that G-d would really like to take.

quote:

On behalf of the rest of the Razorback fans, I would like to welcome you on your trial visit, but it is up to you if you are invited back in which case it will be another 20 years before we try to host you again away from WMS.

Wherever you guys want to play the game is fine with me - it is mostly Razorback fans that complain about WMS, anyway.

GFY.

Keep going. You're on a roll.

Tell me more about how ignorance and stupidity are not and never will be present on the internet.

Please.

No one in their right mind would compare Baton Rouge crime to Fayetteville crime, hence the deflection to include areas 3+ hours away from campus.

Is "avoiding getting raped 101" or "how to safeguard your place from a home invasion 310" still a core requirement down there?

Uh, huh. Sure thing. You're punting better than your all-world special teams did in the LSU game.

Thanks for playing, piggy.

"All time" I believe LSU is...:

10-2-1 @ BR
16-9 @ Shreve
8-7 @ LR
1-0-1 @ Cotton Bowl
0-1 @ Fayette
0-1 @ Memphis

We'll be looking to shore up that win% @ Fayetteville directly.

It is a very informative thread.

I feel sorry for the kids who get in for free, you know the ones with the green shirts, they are going to have to work overtime for the game.

The FPD will enjoy the increase in revenue.
