Texas is an auto take for every conference, not my words.. but I agree.

I should hope not, because those are the words of an idiot.

Pac? NO

ACC? NO

Now, SEC? Aggy, Arky, Missouri, SC, Kentucky, Flawda, and Georgia would all tell you sips to kindly frick OFF!!

You can't get in with that many NO votes.

Your arrogance will not let you see the truth.

Different models

Notre Dame, North Carolina, texas, and Southern Cal lived most of their lives as the alpha dog even if they were not. Once Minnesota fell from power and Chicago dropped B1G sports Ohio State joined Michigan in dominating that conference.

Schools in the SEC often had to fight so hard for respect outside their borders they learned that many has more power than one.

In hindsight, Alabama allowing LSU into its conference when they formed the SEC was a mistake.

Solid troll.

Fans have a very different opinion on Texas' impact on the B12 or SWC for that matter, than those in power.

Interesting. Why is the Big 12 the only power 5 conference without a TV network?

It’s not about tv contracts; who can push their weight around etc.

This is the sec, in recent time,
Ala
Aub
LSU
Fla
Tenn
Have all won national championships.

If you think the sec big 6 would get pushed around by ONE school in Texas, you’re dead wrong.

That’s why I’m not concerned with “ aggy/mizz boogeyman, point to the doll” stories. The reason they got handled by Texas is they they were not alpha enough to avoid getting handled.

Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Fla and Georgia could allow Texas in, but just avoid taking their shite. Aggy/mizz did and now they are broken because of it......damn lucky to have an alpha sec conference to allow them in, too.

But you all put way too much into the tearful stories they tell about the SWC/Big12. A room full of 12 men don’t allow just one man to come in and push them around.

SEC looked at Clemson and Florida State but both did not want the meat grinder of the SEC. SEC wanted TAMU back then as well but Hogs and SC jumped and SEC got their CCG first. Sometimes think this made all the difference in the world.

From your other Geri-pal cheese grits.

Sec reached out to
Clemson
FSU
Tamu
Arky
Scar

Looks like you were offered but couldn’t jump over to us? Why?

Politics. A&M feared political repercussions from leaving the SWC. When A&M finally made the move, we had our bases covered on the political front (Rick Perry was governor).

The conference couldn't even agree to put it to vote, much less agree & put it in play. Texas AD DeLoss Dodds & Big 12 Commissioner Kevin Weiberg pushed it.. after it fell on deaf ears Weiberg resigned to go to the Big 10 & start their network & a year later Dodds starting working on a Texas TV concept that was originally to include TAMU.

TAMU balked just like the Big 12 & Texas went off on their own.

Those have been debunked several times, publicly.

Weiberg Resignes - Recalls Disagreement Over Proposed Network Format

Still, Weiberg was met with resistance during his tenure, particularly when Big 12 leaders could not agree on the formation of their own dedicated television network amid concerns over revenue-sharing among the schools. That won't be a problem in the Big Ten, which distributes its revenue equally.
"Those things do accumulate on you over time," Weiberg said. "This isn't an easy job. You do always have to deal with tough issues, whether it's interrelationships between members, sportsmanship issues, other things that come up during the course of the year. I think clearly the business model is an issue that has been an ongoing point of discussion in this conference and likely will be into the future."

That has Deloss Dodds written all over it.

Bill Byrne says Deloss is a liar.
Byrne wrote that he liked the original joint network idea but assured Texas A&M fans he did not pass up a $150 million deal for his school.

"Our fans should know me better than that," Byrne wrote. "That never happened."

Byrne's blog posting did not say why the partnership never materialized. He did not return a message left seeking comment on Thursday.

This is my point.

The sec is the premier conference with enough power to allow Texas in and yet not allow their bullshite that has sent lesser schools running.

I keep telling you, you’re reading waaaaaaay too much into the lachrymose aggy stories about Texas. Aggy allowed them to put them over a barrel. The sec would not allow ill effects while allowing the benefits of adding them.

Prove me wrong on that.

Why do you think the fricking longhorns would never join the SEC?

They have never competed on a level playing field and are not interested in doing so now.

So, looking back....your OP is retarded.
