Yeah? I seem to recall they had a 2-TD lead in the 4th quarter on OU last time they played.

Sooners win in double OT, 31-24.

Because apparently it is a forgone conclusion that they are all going to win at home.

I'm still waiting for somebody, anybody, to show me video of Mizzou or aggot pissing down their legs and being all rattled their first year on the road in the SEC.

Not surprisingly, I've had zero takers.

Oh, because it's the same coaches and players taking the field, huh? I love how OU tries to beat their chest about their record. You guys couldn't even beat Arizona. GTFO with this argument.

Where are yall on Venables as a HC? Is he on the hotseat if this season disappoints? I have mucho respect for him as a DC but thought he might be a little too high-strung to handle the pressures of a top HC job

V is doing everything right in rebuilding Oklahoma back into Oklahoma. He's not on the hotseat in any form. Very excited about everything he's done, the type of players he and his staff have brought in/are bringing in. Everything moving in the right direction and away from the folly of the past several years..

Majority of fans think he’s great. They all know he was left a huge undertaking after Stinkin slid out in middle of the night.

He is rebuilding into a both sides of ball team. He learned that he can’t do everything so hired a clone DC to help ease time constraints, yet can still be involved.

The man helped OU win a title. Then he helped win 2 more at Clemson. Fans know not only did the team need reinventing from the LiaR time, but we were moving to the best conf.

His seat is not hot. He’s bringing in top 10 classes (he’s 3 for 3 in that stat) and building depth. Fans know this year’s team is better than last year yet we likely have more losses.

There is no fan pressure whatsoever plus the AD never makes knee jerk reactions. Look at our mens basketball coach. He has not made tourney and was still retained. Now he just brought a huge portal haul. AD is very patient so there is no pressure from him.

The only potential pressure would be from outside sources writing hit pieces if we hit some bumps this year. But internally it’s great in fact they just extended him.

Proper schedule. Not a wimpy 'welcome to the SEC but you don't got to play no one" schedule like that asswipes from Texas have.

Pretty sure LSU had Manziel and A&M rattled in their first trip to Red Stick as he threw 3 picks and no TDs and A&M also lost 2 fumbles. It's a tough place to play a road game and anyone with half a brain would admit to it. That doesn't mean it's an automatic loss, so of course Oklahoma can win.

As far as Mizzou is concerned, they went 5-7 their first year, so I don't think many teams had them circled on their schedule. Meaning it probably wasn't the same electric environment a top ranked team would see. They did however, beat Tennessee. Not to put any pressure on you or anything.

Coaches and players come and go.

Our record speaks for itself. We have defeated Mizzou 70% of the times we have played them. That is 7 out of 10.

Mizzou cannot be used as a comp for OU. There is no similarity.

Now, kindly go frick yourself.

Temple, Houston and Tulane is zero preparation for the SEC schedule.

I've learned to appreciate a decent OOC game in the early season. It does wonders when conference starts.

Wasn't somebody asking what a trip to Norman would be like in another thread?

We already know we'll be circled on everybody's calendars.

Do you guys really think teams don't practice for loud environments?

The SEC won't be the first places we've played with huge, noisy crowds.

Because OU isn't the 6th most talented team in CFB. They're not even the 6th most talented team in the SEC.

Blue chip ratio says otherwise idiot.

If any team deserved to sneak into the Playoff at 9-3 it would probably be Oklahoma with their schedule. They'd need to be close losses and to team's that do make it to the SECCG/CFB Playoff.

If OU goes 9-3 and makes the playoffs their first year, I’ll cream my panties.

Don't compare a Mizzou 1st SEC game to an OU 1st. We are not the same animals, Sir.

And Georgia is not the same at Tenn. Georgia went 11-1 and lost to the gumps in the SECCG 32-28.

Yeah, but in the last decade or so the record is 1-1. So you can sit in your rocking chair and satisfy yourself by relishing your past glory. Have fun!

But let’s bring you current…

FACT: MU was objectively better in 2023 than OU.

FACT: In the consensus subjectivity of college football prognosticators, publications and sites Mizzou is expected to be better than OU AGAIN in 2024.

There, now we’re up to date
