But only 1 starter returning correct? The main thing about an OL is that they need to mesh and work well together as a unit. This takes time and in game experience together to be a solid unit. Tennessee will be a big test for the front 5.

Watch that back third of the season. OU is going to wear down. They have a much harder schedule than Texas this year.

Repeat rinse recycle. Every SEC team wears down its not going to just be OU.

Key injuries are key to every team going far and no team is immune. Wear down is an overused term. The players are all conditioned to max this day and age compared to the old way of looking at things.

Where I agree is our schedule is tough. But too many look at our playoff history vs SEC.

For one, we had great offenses but SEC opponents had great defenses. Those games had around 4-5 weeks to prepare and time always favors defense over offense.

Second, we were playing the best of the best. The whole conference isn’t that way, bit top teams are.

Third, we have a HC who values defense. In his 3rd year at Clemson he got them to top 5 defense and held them there rest of his years except one. He also played SeC teams yearly, so knows what it takes.

Our schedule is very tough. But so is it for our opponents who now have to add OU but will not have those 4-5 weeks of prep time. It works both ways.

College football is practically year round now. They don’t just show up week one and start to mesh. Quite a few started early in year and others in late spring. 3 games out of the box vs non SEC. They will be fine. Every SEC game will be a test as all want to beat the new guys so we’ll get their very best.

I think you’re vastly underestimating the importance of in game reps together. 3 tune up games will help, but then you’re facing a top 10 defensive front in college football. Maybe I’m wrong and OU will mesh easily, but past observations tell me otherwise.

Good point. Highly doubt ZeroU makes the SECCG 2 of their first 3 years in the league.

My guess, using % chance to win each game:

Aug. 31 vs. Temple - 98%
Sept. 7 vs. Houston - 93%
Sept. 14 vs. Tulane - 97%
Sept. 21 vs. Tennessee - 55%
Sept. 28 at Auburn - 47%
Oct. 5 Idle
Oct. 12 vs. Texas (Dallas) - 25%
Oct. 19 vs. South Carolina - 79%
Oct. 26 at Ole Miss - 40%
Nov. 2 vs. Maine - 99%
Nov. 9 at Missouri - 45%
Nov. 16 Idle
Nov. 23 vs. Alabama - 40%
Nov. 30 at LSU - 35%

This equates to a projected 7.53 wins.

I agree with this statement to an extent.

Arnold is definitely inexperienced at this level, but has all the talent and athleticism to be special.

The OL, is more experienced than people really realize.
They just haven’t played together as a unit. If they can gel, and learn how to play together quickly.
I think they could be a strength by midseason.

Could see this being College Game Day. Not a lot of great games that weekend.

Concur. In that year OU had a much better team. In 2023 and 2024 Mizzou is the superior animal that will eat you for lunch in COMO! Welcome to the SEC.

If they go 11-1 with that schedule they'll win the SEC and the NC, but that's not happing. They don't have the horses for that.

How does the 6th most talented team in CFB not have the horses? Michigan just won an NC with nowhere near the blue chip talent OU has.

Because OU isn't the 6th most talented team in CFB. They're not even the 6th most talented team in the SEC.

new QB, shakey, OL and new OC...I'd say the teams they play with meddling offenses they can keep it close and win on talent alone...but against the better offensive teams I don't think they can keep up. I'd put them right in the middle of the SEC...

I think you nailed it...I'd prob give them less than 50% vs TN..just because I don't think they have the horses to keep up with TN offense.

#1 QB in his class

#1 most experienced OLine

OC was OU Analyst not new to team or players

I see so many posts making assumptions.

Your SEC champ last year and a new OC, DC, OL, QB and their Oline was far worse than anything Bedenbaugh will ever put on the field, and not a damn one of you were able to capitalize on it from "dat SEC grind". It took two teams from outside the SEC to do what none of you were able to do.

But y'all keep frickin that chicken.

PS: And who says our Oline is "shakey"? Not a damn one of y'all have even seen them play yet. But you love your narratives now don't you?

Y’all got smoked by Kansas and Arizona. Vegas has your win total at 7.5. Which means they project you to have a LOSING conference record. And you don’t even play a Power Five team out of conference(or one that has been one for more than a year looooolz).
