Saban would be disappointed in your 9 game stance.
Did I miss something? Are all SEC fans supposed to agree with Saban?
I also wonder if Saban would still agree with his earlier stance after watching the advantage the top Big10 teams have in the postseason due to playing against very few NFL draft picks all season.

We all have to start somewhere.

I’m talking about onfield talent relative to the system being run and you’re counting recruiting stars.
In terms of outcomes:
LT: 1st Rd NFL
LG: undrafted
C: 5th round NFL
RG: Transfer portal to A&M
RT: TF who was shifted to guard this spring
The output was statistically unacceptable.
The NFL and coaches weren’t happy with it.
If you want to argue some of those guys underperformed relative to their HS ranking fair, but I’d argue most of what got chased off was a combination of bad system fits (keep in mind we shifted to the air raid) and bad evals without calling any of them out by name because I appreciate their effort for the most part.

Jalen Hurts comes to mind. He’s not successful is he?
It took him 4 seasons before he became a consistently effective passer.

OP, I have enjoyed this rare exchange between the Alabama and Auburn internet users on this board. Thank you for bringing this to their attention.

Oline has been the problem the last 6 years. Might not be this year but Golesh is fixing it.

I don’t think he will be another Cam by any means. But I believe he will be AU’s best QB since Cam including Bo Nix (and I was/am a fan of Nix’s while at AU and after.
I am willing to give him about 4 games before making any type of judgement good or bad.

Auburn fans were ecstatic about Jackson Arnold last summer. After the Baylor game they were seriously talking about him winning the Heisman.

Only sunshine pumpers were saying that. Most AU fans were hopeful JA wasn’t the bust he was at OK.
Every fan base has its share of idiots including AU. Hell, I have been banned from 2 AU boards for not pumping enough sunshine. But I will defend AU among rival fans fiercely. I graduated from there so I am no sidewalker.

43-72 603 total yards 2 TD 1 INT @ Miami and @ Florida last year, I think they’ll be fine

That is a 59.7% completion percentage. His QBR in those games was 56.1 and 78. The USF offense scored just one touchdown in each of those games, and scored a total of 12 points against Miami (2 FG, TD, failed 2 point conversion) and 16 points against Florida (3 FG, TD, XP). That is not a recipe to consistently win in the SEC.

Nah, Alabama has had several much more embarrassing blowouts over the last 30 years. Alabama losing at home to La-Monroe. Alabama losing at home to LSU 27-3 and 27-0. Alabama losing at home to Southern Miss 21-0. Alabama losing at home to Auburn 9-0. Those were all more embarrassing.
Alabama got blown out by the undefeated national champions one game before Indiana dismantled Oregon the same way. Was it fun to watch? No. Was it embarrassing? Not nearly as much as people here wish it were.
