I think every time there is a new coaching hire, there are people who just throw out popular names for the attention/clicks.

Every opening always features the same "hot names" and there are always 1000 rumors related to it. Throw out the big names, the fans of those schools will circulate your link etc.

When someone is right, it's most likely coincidental rather than because someone really knew something. It almost always ends up being someone else hired, like 99% of the time.

Rinse and repeat because people want the rumors to be true and never learn.
