I haven't visited the Dawgvent in years, but way back in the day, like late 1990's it was one of the best college sports boards on the net. Like the Rant, it was open to rival fans, but unlike the Rant, it was not a trash talk board.

The vent is still very much alive and well. That was the first message board I ever started posting on back in 2000.
At some point around 2006ish rivals split it up to have a premium pay board (keeping the name dawgvent) and keeping the free board everyone knew now called dawgchat.
The board OP is talking about is some shitty knockoff version of this site but for uga that hasn't existed in many years. It's extremely odd.

They did this to TideSports in 2010, except Rivals took over the site and killed it to where you had to have the Rivals account to have access. All they wanted was a price tag on Cecil Hurts articles but it ended up killing TideSports, which was easily the best Bama forum at that time.
Damn shame too. Last year the Tuscaloosa News/TideSports tried to make it free again and start the boards back up. It's sad to look at now, no activity in almost a year:

can't agree with that. I was on that board and all the other popular Alabama boards, and Tider Insider was then and is now the best Alabama football board on the net.

got his step kid a football scholarship to Alabama due to his connections. I won't dispute they put out quality information. The design is on par with the old school al.com forum and is painful to look at.
