Did that movie ever come out about Burlsworth?
According to Wiki:
quote:
A screenplay titled Greater: The Brandon Burlsworth Story has been written based on the book. Brian Reindl, a former real estate investor and fellow University of Arkansas graduate, spent eight years working on the screenplay. A self-described "walk-on filmmaker", Reindl decided to finance and produce the film.
David Hunt is directing and Gabe Mayhan is Director of Photography. Morgan Casting Company was hired to cast the film and began holding open casting calls in March 2013 in Fayetteville, Arkansas; Little Rock, Arkansas; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Canton, Mississippi. Christopher Severio has been cast to play Brandon with Neal McDonough, Leslie Easterbrook, Michael Parks and Nick Searcy in other lead roles.
Filming began on Monday, May 6, 2013, in Fayetteville, Little Rock and Farmington, Arkansas, with a six-week production shoot. The producers anticipate that Greater could have a U.S. theatrical release in Fall 2014, although no distribution pacts have been announced. IMDB indicates that Greater is slated for a November 2014 release.
I certainly would pay to see it if it is ever released.

I still blame Nutt for that play. He called a PA pass play when running the ball would given us a chance to run out the clock. Stoerner tripped over Brandon Burlsworth's ankle on his drop and the rest is history.
He called that play brother

I remember the year after, when UT returned the game in Fayetteville. We wore them out and stormed the field like knuckleheads and stole the goalpost. We carried it all the way to a Dickson St bar and rested it against the building. Stoerner was the QB again, was very proud for him, UT was hard to beat back than.
UT looks like they will be again! Looking forward to our game this year.

I really wish we could play Tennessee every year. They would be a better rivalry game than Mizzou for sure.

Excuse my ignorance but what happened to the guy?

Had no idea we had that, that's awesome.

He wasn't just one of the greats to play at Arkansas, he was one of the all-time great people.

He got drafted by the Colts who gave a very good tribute to him when they heard the news as well.

Yeah the 99 game was basically the 98 game minus the miracle finish. Many people think that our 99 team was better than our 98 team, but just didn't have destiny on its side like the 98 team did. The memorable wins the previous year vs Florida and Arkansas both had plays that indicated destiny was on our side (Al Wilson forcing the goal line fumble, Deon Grant's one handed pick, Stoernover). It wasn't meant to be for the 99 team, and the close wins vs UF/Arky became losses.

A statue of Billy Ratlif, the guy who caused and recovered the fumble?
Caused? My impression is the only cause of the fumble is Stoerner being a slapdick.
