We're definitely not the most talented but we have the most grit. The injuries are starting to take a toll but this team has a competitive edge that is rare.

Long time listener, first time caller.

LSU, Tennessee, Arkansas, Vandy (trending up), Georgia (trending down) and now aNm (trending way up) and maybe Auburn are all legitimate threats to win the SEC crown.

Just looking at games already played, though, it's tough to not like the 'Horns given their 3 game lead in the conference.

You could nit-pick schedules for all the teams I've mentioned, but the reality is, the 'Horns have won against all comers.

Texas has had LSU, Georgia and Auburn at home and in any given year, a 6-3 record (winning each of those series 2-1) would be a good year, but to sweep everyone but LSU? Might be unheard of.

They have A&M at home this weekend (pencil in 2-1 series win on a good year - although betting against the A&M team that took 2 of 3 in Fayetteville may not be very smart) and then their first real road test against top-flight SEC talent at Arkansas (no offense UK, they took your series 2-1 before you guys went ape-shite on Tenn and Louisville) and we'll see how real they are.

In short, I like the 'Horns. I like them better if we kick butt in Fayettville

We certainly have been to this point. The injuries are really piling up now though. I’m not sure we can maintain the same level of play, but guys have continued to step up.

Nah
We are part of the top group though

Baseball is such a funny sport. It’s about when you’re hot. The season has gone so well thus far but adversity will strike at some point. Just hope we aren’t one of those teams that has a great reg season and then goes out early in the tourney.

This team definitely has holes. I would expect future Schloss teams to be more complete. Still have some catchup to do talent wise.

I think they will hit a skid at some point this year and lose a series or 2 - or get swept.
They will be a tough out for someone though.
I think the injury to Spencer will make it tough on them eventually.
Oh, and I almost forgot, we have just had all the tough teams at home so far.

The key in league play normally, is to not get swept...each team usually hits a two or so week point in their schedule where they may drop some games. The biggest thing is to come out of those weekends 1-2, or maybe even 2-1 and just scraping by than to leave the weekend 0-3.

Vandy, Arkansas, and Tennessee are the only three programs in recent memory who have won all their series in a league season. So it does not happen very often. Just have to weather the rough stretches and do not let them get too rough.

This league is just too talented year in and year out.

16-2, starting 3 sophomores and 2 freshman. A lot better than we expected.

Still a lot of baseball to be played.

Weiner may be why Spencer is out this weekend. There is speculation on TexAgs that he messed up Sdao last year with the same techniques - they have a long thread on the subject of Spencer's injury. Free baseball board. Sdao is out for the year at A&M, and suffered from the same symptoms. This article is making its way around several sites right now that I have seen. Would like to know some of the Texas fans' thoughts.

This is not how you throw a slider

It will be interesting to see if there are other issues on the Texas pitching staff as we approach the end of the year.

Time will tell.

They definitely have friends down at the scheduling office.

The next four weeks will push them. Injuries, fatigue, and SEC tourney.

Definitely upper 1/3 with that coaching staff.
