Is it time to go back to two divisions?

This wild format is interesting but all it takes is one of the teams getting left out of the conference championship due to some 4th tier tie breaker rule.

EAST:
Florida
Georgia
Tennessee
Carolina
Vanderbilt
Kentucky
Bama
Auburn

WEST:
Ole Miss
State
LSU
Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
Texas
A&M

9 league games. Winner of each division is pretty much a guarantee to the CFP

Its entirely possible the way the tie breakers are currently set up that multiple teams could 11-1 and one could be 12-1 and another have a 9-4 record and get a bye. It is technically possible that a team could run the table in the conference, lose ALL of their OOC games and get in the SECCG and win it and get a bye. Not very likely but it is not out of the question that it could easily happen with someone losing a couple of OOC games when scheduling quality OOC opponents like ATM and, at least at the time it was scheduled, LSU did this season. The fact that OOC games has not impact on the SECCG is kind of stupid UNLESS everyone plays EVERYONE in Conference and the conference is to big for that.

No. I like it better now. Divisions limited scheduling. Divisions sucked for the few years we had them.

No, divisions are stupid.

So is a 9 game schedule.

The most interesting part of this season has been how many teams are in the hunt for the SECCG because we don't have divisions.

Nonsense, I'd be all for a 15 game schedule.

Just because Ole Miss never won the Division doesn't give you the right to speak for the big boys.

No thanks.

Right now we'll ensure that whatever two teams get in will be at least 7-1 (assuming there are at least two teams with that record). Yeah, the "wrong" 7-1 team might make it in, but they'll be 7-1.

In the divisional set up we had 5-3 teams making it from one division while a 7-1 team from other division who beat the 5-3 team would not be in the championship game.

Non-divisional is better.

16 teams > 4 pods > 4-team playoff > on-campus semifinals.
