So what's your argument? If Princeton does it, then it's O.K. for Bama to do it?

Fans arguing about Bama having 13 or 8 national titles. Great to be a Bama fan.

And that's what the Gumps always fall back to when an argument/discussion can't be defended.

I think the point is that it is "okay" for Bama to do it, but the rest of the SEC knows how silly it is. As posted here by someone else: "It was a long time ago." Not sure why one of the best football programs of all time needs to boost its ego, but the fans sure do. Big deal.

It's not laughable its simply sad that anonimity behind a keyboard makes people with little or no self-esteem an internet super-hero. You can't compete in society so you flex you virtual muscles here and purport things that you know arent true in the hopes some other weak-minded fool will latch on giving you some kind of perverted internet quorum. Flaming makes some people feel like they belong.

Irks you that Lsu will never catch Bama, doesn't it. Probably irks you even more, that Saban could have more Crystal Balls than Lsu does come next month too.

Lol, now Bama fans are claiming LSU titles also.

Must be a reason for that.Hmmmm, maybe it's because Bama has more national titles than 97% of CFB. What is there to defend, 13 or 8, it is still a great problem to have. Just for good measure I'll throw in the 22 SEC crowns.

The talk is SEC. Those are SEC percentages, and no, Bama did not vacate 31 SEC games. Stupidass.

forfeit/vacate so 31 games

1993 forfeits 9 games
2005 vacated 10 games
2006 vacated 6 games
2007 vacated 6 games

Again...UF, LSU, AUB, TENN and UGA have won more games and have a better win% than Bama since 1983. This is fact because cheating counts

The first (Alabama's)crystal football was awarded in 1992. Alabama won its second in 2009. If Alabama wins in Jan it will be their third. I'm pretty sure thats what he meant.

You might wanna do some research on these 3 seasons. That's not from cheating. Nice try though

now Bama claims titles based on the material the TROPHY was made out of!!

The BCS began in 1998. (see the Tenn trophy for proof)

Nobody is debating whether or not Bama is a great football program, and has great football history. That's a given. But please, don't take more credit than you have earned. That's what makes the Gumps look so bad in the eyes of other schools.

I know you're going to say that you don't care what other schools think, but if you didn't you wouldn't be on this message board.

LSU's accomplishments in the last decade are spectacular and shouldnt be diminished. If LSU wins in Jan it will be the 3rd BCS title in 9 years - thats pretty strong!

I think what we're seeing is 2 very strong programs flexing their muscles - it would be great if they were in different conferences or divisions look at the great championship games we could see. Instead we get to see it every year so the luster is a bit tarnished. However with this title game we get to see and appreciate it for what it is - two of the best teams in recent history going head-to-head for a second time.
