I think so. Nick had been losing it the last few years and DeBoer is entering his prime. The Gumps are lucky because Saban could never be fired. I have UGA and Bama as 1 and 2 in the SEC this year.

If Nick came out of retirement tomorrow and said I want to coach again every school in the country except for maybe 4/5 would shitcan their HC to bring him in to replace.

LSU fans, folks..

LSU fans don't even know how bad BK is and will be the same until he is removed from coaching LSU. This will hit them very hard in a couple of years with the same results and no championships.

You nailed it.

and 10RC nailed Bama when they hired Pruitt away in 2018. True they suffered as well but losing JP as Bama's DC was a big deal for Nick.

No.

Saban can escalate playoff odds for at least 25 different teams.

It is not impossible for this to be the case

“Over the Hill” Saban just won the SEC, denied Georgia the playoff, and was quite frankly the biggest torn in Georgia’s side from 2008-2023.

Be thankful the old man is gone

I think so. Time will tell, but yeah I think Saban was getting too old.

This past year Saban still did a hell of a job, but the energy level just died down and the players started seeing him more as a lovable grandpa

Kalen DeBoer is just younger and brings more new energy and connects with the kids more. He's not as hard-nosed but he knows what it takes, and he knows how to get to the national championship and win lots of games. Clearly he's doing well as a recruiter.

I'm excited to see what CKD can do with the resources, top level facilities and backing Bama provides. DeBoer is a younger and has the energy and sense of strength that I think Coach Saban was beginning to lose the last couple of years due to the aging process.

LOL no, DeBoer is crap

He took Washington to the national championship. That doesn’t count for nothing.

I don’t think DeBoer will be what Saban was, but Bama will be a strong program.

LOL no, DeBoer is crap. While Saban ended his career with 6 straight years sans championship (and he’s never done that before), he was still better. DeBoer is a west coast pussy with only 4 years HC experience. He is in way over his head and they know it. That’s why they’re talking so much trash because they know the fall is going to be PAINFUL.

DeBoer will be gone in 2 years if the money train doesn’t stop in the mean time. Most of the boosters in Bama are also fair weather fans.

STFU you're giving LSU fans a bad look.

DeBoer isn't a bad coach but he's not Saban and he's damn sure not SEC worthy in my opinion. I think Bama will coast on talent alone for a while and they'll get lucky here and there. I'm thinking something similar to Miles at LSU -- we did very well on talent alone for a long time despite Miles, not because of Miles. I expect something similar from Bama for the next few years and I also think they will be more beatable than any time over the past 15 years.

I think it was past time. Nick could stay as long as he wanted but it was obvious Bama wasn't Bama anymore. They were still winning but it wasn't the same attention to detail anymore. the team looked sloppy, uncharacteristic mistakes, things Saban would have never put up with 15 years ago. He had lost a step and just due to age wasn't at the top of his game. He admitted as much. NIL and the portal just sped it up. If i were an older coach I wouldn't want to deal with that shite to be quite honest but at the end of the day Saban had lost a step and he knew it was time to go.

Bama fans are delusional but theyve done nothing but shite gold the last 15 or so years.

It takes time to come down.

I think there is a decent chance they are coached better X's and O's wise on gameday than they were last year.

Two things can exist at the same time. Alabama did downgrade at head coach. That was happening no matter what. But Alabama did upgrade the coaching staff in a lot of ways.

What makes someone "SEC worthy"? What does that even mean?

Could that have been the case for Brian Kelly? Could it still be?
