I've lived in Alabama for a long, long time and I've never seen Alabama fans walk around with this blank stare! It's like a family member has passed and they don't know what to say!

Of course, as a real LSU fan, I texted some of my Alabama buddies to rub it in and the responses have been short, but funny.

Here are some of the responses:
We're F'd!
Good bye Ryan Williams
WTF is going on
He's only 72!
NIL/transfer portal won
It's McLaughlin's fault!
(He's the center that messed up the semifinal game against Michigan)

With the news just breaking, a lot of Alabama fans are just finding out, so I can't wait to hear the talk shows tomorrow! It should make for great entertainment!

Did they think he was gonna coach forever? They’ll live and bama will be bama just not as dominant

I’m starting to wonder how soon Alabama knew about this. I feel like maybe Saban didn’t give his two weeks notice

I’ve been pissing them off ever since the news came out.

I told them his coaching career at LSU was more impressive than Bama bc Bama was already established and recruited itself.

I also told them it took a professional team to pull him from LSU and a loss to Harbaugh to run him out of Alabama.

A lot of Alabama fans are delusional and really thought he was going coach until he passed away!

Haha.

He’s only 72. Bryant retired at 69.

They didn’t really get beat down but I Saban probably has seen the next generation of coaches has come. Him and Carroll retired at the perfect time imo

Average lifespan is what 77?

I’m not saying he won’t outlive that but the guy has maybe 10 years left in life… I’m sure he would like to be around family more.

The one time I road-tripped to see LSU play in Tuscaloosa was the early 2000’s. It was a depressing atmosphere. The bandwagon fans are going to disappear once again and the biggest thrill in Alabama will be trying to become bowl eligible.

Not so fast my friend !

There are those of us who appreciate everything he did for Alabama, but at the same time, we saw the writing on the wall. His adaptability is unparalleled, and he did it for multiple years and did it with great success, but even Saban gets tired of changing at some point. He was tired, you could see it, and the intensity just wasn't the same. I am actually glad he decided to retire now instead of dragging it out for several more years. Bring in the young blood and let's get to Rolling again !

The game has changed, we all know that, and I think he is just tired of having to change with it. We saw the writing on the wall, and likewise, so did he.

He's earned the right to walk out at 72 years old and enjoy the rest of his life
