North Division
Boston College
Cincinnati
Pittsburgh
Rutgers
Syracuse
Penn State
Virginia Tech
West Virginia
all teams that found their way to Power 4 conferences eventually
South Division
East Carolina
Florida State
Louisville
Memphis
Miami
South Carolina
Southern Miss
Tulane
Penn State went for the Big Ten and FSU to the ACC and this blew up, but it would have been a good conference. Roy Kramer took the plan and ran with it, and added a championship game aspect that wasn't proposed.

How is Memphis even close to the same? Ark has nattys and has had solid stretches in the big 3 sports

I went to the 2009 and 2015 Liberty Bowls, hog fans packed them both out at over 90%.
It's closer and cheaper than the rest of the bowls.
Memphis fans don't come close to filling up the stadium for home games.

Now that we got Mizzou we should drop bottom feeder Arkansas and add a school with a superior athletic program to theirs, like a Memphis or Iowa State.

The SEC was the greatest show on turf this year. I, for one, enjoyed the big marquee matchups going on every week. No other conference could come close to matching it.
