Unlikely, yes but hypothetically, which two would play in the SEC Championship game?

I’m waiting for every team to have 3 conference games under their belt to make my assessment on the teams that survived that point of the season.

REC would decide.
Tejas and Ole Myth have easier schedules.

There are rules set in place a situation like this, but I’m not sure what they are. I wouldn’t just listen to a random post based on popularity on this situation.

Comes down to mutual opponent records I think. Haven’t looked at the tie breakers in a while though

It eouod come down to cfb ranking i think

In the event of a tie between teams competing for a place in the Conference championship game, the following procedures will be used in descending order until the tie is broken:
A Head-to-head competition among the tied teams
B Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams
C Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams
D Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams
E Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams
F Random draw of the tied teams

We all know Alabama would be 1.

If that happens, then Ole Miss will be reminded why they are the runts of the SEC.....Whatever would need to happen to get Alabama and Texas in that championship will be done

Actual SEC tiebreaker rules.
1: Head-to-head competition among the tied teams
2:Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams
3:Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams
4:Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams
5:Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams
6:Random draw of the tied teams
1: Head-to-head competition among the tied teams
2:Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams
3:Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams
4:Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams
5:Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams
6:Random draw of the tied teams

Thought it would come down to strength of your SEC schedule.
Ole Miss and Texas play 6 of the same teams so that’s a wash.
Ole Miss plays LSU and South Carolina and Texas plays A&M and Vandy.
So I think it comes down to the combined SEC records of those opponents.

Well, ESPN will be pushing hard for Alabama and Texas for weeks leading up. So as far as rankings go, Ole Miss will be assed out.
When it comes to things like SoS, Ole Miss is going to lose as well.
So if they all go undefeated, Ole Miss sits at home.
Which btw, is the best place to be. You'll still get into the playoff and your extra game will be some other conference opponent not as strong as the SEC opponent(or maybe the loser of the SECCG). Meanwhile, whoever wins the SECCG had to play a more difficult opponent and whoever lost is in the same boat as Ole Miss with playoff games.

Honestly whoever makes it and loses stands so much more to lose than the 2nd place team with a good record. If I was ole miss losing a close one to alabama and hanging in the top 12 while alabama and whoever they play beat the shite out of each other in the seccg is fine with me.

Yep exactly what I said.
Ole Miss needs LSU and South Carolina to win more than Vandy and A&M.
I’ll come my pants if LSU helps get Ole Miss into the sec championship.

This isn’t the CFP who decides it. Or any CFB “committee” (RIP Mike Leach). So many posters posting out their arse on this, other than the couple posting actual rules. You sir, are posting out your arse, and smells like a giant Louisianan shite.

ESPN can’t control this. There are rules already in place.

I’ve heard that Sankey shook hands and made a gentlemens agreement with TEXAS athletic director, CDC , that TEXAS would always get all the benefits of any tiebreaker or problem that might come up in the first 10 years of membership in the SEC.

What is actually going to happen is Texas, Tennessee, and Ole Miss all go undefeated
Ole Miss conference opponents will have better record than Texas
So Ole Miss vs Tennessee SEC championship
Ole Miss conference opponents will have better record than Texas
So Ole Miss vs Tennessee SEC championship
