Better check your facts again asswipe.
A&M was ranked 24th when we demolished
Them. We lost to #1 by 5 points. Who again did GEORGIA LOSE to?

That's what you are going with?

I’m saying UGA played a tougher schedule up until that point and when starters are left in the game longer they’re more likely to experience injuries. I’m sorry you don’t like my imaginary answer to your hypothetical question and prefer your imaginary answer.

Just checked the top 25 and didn’t see a&m. Can you find them for me? Oh, and what ranked team has bama beaten again? Maybe if bama played a decent ooc schedule they’d have a ranked win.

You had played literally 1 game against a team with a pulse out of your first 5. And South Carolina played with their #3 QB for most of the 2nd half and OT.

Arguing that Alabama's schedule is easy is fine, but it's a lot harder to make an argument that "Georgia would be undefeated" with it when you have already lost to one of those "easy" teams. Impossible, actually.

With Tua, Bama was the 2nd best team in the country and had the misfortune of playing the best. Without Tua, they are still a top 5 team.
Are they a deserving team? That’s a different question.
My opinion is that if you play a weak schedule and lose a game, that was your playoff game because you knew going in that you didn’t have any room for error.
Then again, my opinion don’t mean shite.

Not really. First, it’s a hypothetical question with no correct answer because we’ll never know what would happen. Second, you’re assuming that South Carolina would beat UGA again if they played, which I doubt would happen. Lastly, starters are more likely to be injured the longer they’re left in, so if UGA had the luxury of taking them out against weaker competition it’s not crazy to think they’d have less injuries for that game.

Agree - I think that we are in a group of 3-4 teams that can make an argument to being the #4 team in the country. However, I think the #1-3 teams are pretty significantly better than any of that group arguing about #4.

I absolutely agree. Once you lose a game, you pretty much lose the right to be upset about whatever happens (outside of situations where you go 11-1 vs a gauntlet, say if Auburn or A&M had).

Again, it's hard to talk shite about easy teams when you've lost to one of them. Or when you've had to hang on for dear life at home against one when Alabama beat them by 3 TDs on the road with ease.

Georgia has a better resume than Alabama, and that's fine. Stick to that argument.

I agree. There is also zero way to definitively say what UGA’s record would be if they had bama’s schedule. So OP is wrong for saying UGA would be 10-1 and you are for saying 9-2.

Hopefully the committee starts putting weight on ooc schedules. You have teams like bama and OSU that schedule cupcakes while teams like UGA, auburn, LSU, and a&m schedule real games.

I'd say Bama's past schedules look better than UGA's.

2015: Wisconsin
2016: USC
2017: FSU
2018: Louisville
2019: Duke

UGA

They look basically the same and I don’t see how anything before the playoff era is relevant considering my post was addressing the playoff committee giving relevance to ooc scheduling. Bama has played decent ooc opponents before, but that doesn’t give them a pass for the recent scheduling they’ve done. I think 2015 Wisconsin was the last ooc team bama played that finished the season in the top 25.

I know this was unpopular but it's actually true. Georgia has been able to hide in the SEC East for MANY years now (they should have easily won a NC by now). With Mullens running Florida, the Gators will only get better. It wouldn't surprise me if Tennessee was to get into the mix too. Georgia's window is almost closed now. I think Georgia is the next team to go into tDecline all because Kirby can't lead his team out of 2yds and a cloud of dust with these shitty 10/25 150 yd per game QBs.

You mean 2019 and playing Duke? Because in 2018 we played Louisville, who had been good more times than not over the previous decade. In 2017 we played a preseason Top 5 Florida State. In 2016 we played Southern Cal, who was preseason and postseason Top 5. In 2015 we played Wisconsin, who was a Top 25 team.

In 2020 we are playing Southern Cal. In 2021 we are playing Miami. In 2022 we are playing Texas.

2019 sucked

Agreed. I believe the top 6 in the SEC would be undefeated with Clemson's schedule as well.

You literally lost to a team on Alabama’s Schedule. You will lose decisively to LSU. Your statement has zero merit. You would have at least 2 losses with Alabama’s schedule.

This entire thread has been a waste of bandwidth. I’m ashamed that I contributed.

SOS rankings according to Jeff Sagarin:

#26 Georgia
#27 Oklahoma
#31 Baylor
#40 LSU
#46 Ohio State
#51 Utah
#62 Clemson
#63 Alabama

Hmmm...

Can anyone explain Oklahoma and Baylor to me? They've played nobody OOC, and you can't tell me the Big 12 is that much better than the SEC games LSU has played (Bama, Florida, Auburn). Or for that matter, the Big 10 teams Ohio State has played (Penn State, Wisconsin, Indiana).

FSU and to a lesser extent usc can be forgiven. The Louisville game was after Lamar Jackson left and duke is just bad.
