Hold up…I was told Mizzou had the number 1 incoming portal class in football.

Arguing over recruiting rankings was always pretty silly, but at least there was some standardization in what people were arguing over. Arguing over incoming transfer portal "net" rankings is another level

On3, where Mizzou in ranked higher, looks at both incoming and outgoing transfers. 24/7 only looks at incoming.

If recruiting rankings mattered, Arkansas would consistently be in the top 25 of the AP poll,

But Alas.

Bragging about bringing in mercenaries is a weird flex.

I agree with you, but this includes any high school signee with an NIL deal...or even a scholarship for that matter. They're all essentially getting something of value to play college football.

What did Kentucky do last year and where do you think Kentucky will end up in this year's final poll?

I am not sure being number one in the portal is that great of an honor. Notre Dame was number 40 and Ohio State number 9; Georgia was 14 and Texas 5. Currently Ohio State is 46 and Notre Dame isn’t in the top 50; Georgia is 49 and Texas isn’t in the top 50 either. The transfer portal other than for a player here or there isn’t the answer to success in great numbers.

OU finished 10th in the SEC in recruiting and 15th currently in the portal

And Venables as your coach with a 45m buyout. Have fun with all of that

Most teams below Oregon seem to be loading up on 3-stars and I am not sure how that helps. It will be mostly bench players that will never see the field except maybe special teams. The portal is the place you should be looking for immediate help. The OL would be the exception for taking a group of 3-stars. Seems "kneejerk" in most cases.
