He mentions Alabama (of course) and Tennessee as possibilities, but not as much as the team below.

"LSU now has depth; they've now gone through a season in transition under Brian Kelly. They've got their quarterback back, they've got wide receivers on the outside. remember, they threw it for, geez, 500 yards in the SEC Championship game. I get it. Georgia was up handily, and LSU was just pitching it around the lot. But they've got experience at quarterback, they've got experience at wide receiver, their defense should be better, Brian Kelly is a very good football coach. This is a team I would be leery of. I think LSU has got some serious potential."-- Joel Klatt (as quoted on Dawg Daily on FanNation)

Backup QB dropped 30 points + 700 yards on that “elite” Georgia defense iirc.

LSU: 44
UGAy: 16

I’m over here like tap the breaks a bit.

Secondary concerns me.

And our depth is better but Uga deep.

While I believe LSU will be significantly better, I don't expect Georgia to be much worse. They have a very easy schedule which bodes well for breaking in a new QB. I expect a rematch in Atlanta in December, but I wont have a sense of how much of the gap LSU is able to close until at least midseason.

I think LSU-UGA over the next decade has the potential to be the matchup. It has the potential to be a really interesting contrast. Here you have UGA, who is going to be consistently built like the quintessential southern football team - nasty front 7 and beef on the defensive line that comes in waves. LSU is going to be known under Kelly for its offensive lines and, as always the case with Louisiana, it's playmakers on the outside. Not taking away anything from LSU's and UGA's defense and offense, respectively, I just think the strengths of the teams will be as noted.

Not to mention the cultural contrast of fanbases as well. UGA is about as traditional southern/SEC as you could get, with just a smidge of elitism as well. LSU brings the gulf coast/cajun culture with a more blue collar background.

You don't recall correctly.

Does LSU not have a starting QB?

Are you really bragging about scoring 14 points in the last 16 minutes of game time (about the same time that UGA ran the football the last 15 snaps from scrimmage)

2019 LSU couldn't score 44 on Georgia, but the 2023 version will. Okay.

it was 37-3 after the 3rd quarter.

eta. man, a top 4 team, even after all these top 2 recruiting classes, getting absolutely pile drived like a sunbelt opponent in their home stadium - new Alabama?

If everything comes together for LSU, they will win 9 games. They will most likely only win 8 games this season.

Lol that game was so much worse than the score.

Some because uga wrs got hurt and Pickens was a dumbass. Mostly because the #2 D IN THE NATION got rolled. Remember kirbys plan to rush 3 like auburn did?
