Well I guess opinions vary on Stetson. He was named the Offensive MVP of the game. I guess you weren’t asked for your vote?

Yeah, I've got more sense than most of the media that they asked for that vote.

Nobody said he wasn't an avg. College qb. OP said avg. Highschool qb, which is simply not true. Overall his college performance does show he is an avg. College qb, but Monday night he played well enough to become a national champion

And what I'm saying is that was entirely a function of everyone around him playing better. I feel like the only thing people are taking umbrage with what I'm saying is that I'm just being blunt and pointing out that he didn't have some revelatory moment that turned him into a good enough QB to finally beat Alabama. His teammates did that for him and he's been the dude getting attaboys by default for it when really folks should be congratulating those offensive linemen for setting the tenor for that entire second half.

Yeah. If you pretend the 4th quarter didn't happen, you couldn't be more right.

You’re trying to reason with someone who is a lot smarter than most. He said so.

But it is always the qb, he said it himself. Your either the hero or the zero. Nobody was downing the defense in December when they couldn't pressure Young or stop a forward pass. It was all stetson's fault for the 2 picks. Nobody was calling the line out for not being able to run the ball or keep Stetson from running for his life. I agree, congratulate all of them. But to act like he didn't step up at the same time they did is absurd

I think this is fair. His team set the table for him. He didn't butcher carving the meat to stretch the idiom.

Hell, he never played completely terrible against Alabama but his team forced him to consistently do things to keep pace that really ain't his game. He just not the kind of QB you want throwing it 30-40 times against a quality defense. If anything he was able to be himself more in this game because Georgia looked more like the Georgia they've been v. everyone else but Alabama over the last several years.

What I admitted was that you thought that. I’m pretty skeptical

I simply take exception that Stetson Bennett did anything great in that game. He didn't.

Bennet was 4/4 with 2 touchdowns and averaged over 20 YPA in the fourth. I’d say that’s great.

The QB gets blamed when you lose, the QB should get the praise when you win. Hardly anyone blamed our defense and poor OL play in the first game with Bama. All anyone wanted to talk about was Stet's INTs. If you're going to blame the loss on him, you've at least got to give him some love for the win.

ETA: I see Hypersonic already beat me to it.

I mean...he had two offers to small schools coming out of college. His dream was to be the QB at Georgia so he walked on with us.

I know people get tired of fabricated "feel good" stories (Mantei Tao, anybody?) but his is a real life feel god story. I am very happy for him and glad he is getting his time to shine.

I also get that this is probably a troll thread against Alabama, but it is what it is.

No, I’m genuinely trying to give cred. In terms of being an SEC QB, 3A second team ain’t shite. Dude is a baller for winning a title. Absolutely nuts.

Bennett's performance is 100% a function of his defense playing excellent all game and his OL responding to a manhood check at halftime. Young's performance is 100% a function of his offense's depth not being able to sustain losses anymore and his OL being trash like they were all season.

Do you guys even know ball or just a bunch of ignorant homers?

To summarize: a) Bennett didn't do anything; b) Bryce Young's piss-poor stats were not his fault; and c) you are an ignorant homer.
