I totally respect Kirby as a coach, but what drives me crazy is how he is constantly b!tching to the refs between every fcking play- and it works, they are scared to death of him, reminds me a lot of how former duke bball Coach K operated.

I understand perfectly what you're saying. You don't understand that teams didn't play for a national championship or get ranked 1 without beating someone ranked. The bowl/ championship system changed drastically over the years. Championships used to just be by vote. Then it got changed to BCS (computer ranking system). Now it's a playoff. In the first 2 forms of crowning a champion it was impossible to win a national championship without beating a ranked opponent. EX 1975 ASU was the only undefeated team in CFB, then ended the season 2nd due to an 11-1 OU team beating tougher opponents.
It was a cute attempt at trying to prove something, ultimately you just look like an idiot.

Being involved in EVERY play is what a head coach is supposed to be doing.
UGA would have lost to Ohio State in 2022/23 had Kirby NOT called a timeout when he saw Ohio State about to run a fake punt. He called it so late that no one but the officials picked up on it, Ohio State ran the play and picked up the first down and for a second or so no one knew it had happened....to the point I have a dent in the drywall next to the TV where the remote control somehow flew out of my hand and struck the wall with an inordinate amount of force. Sark watched UGA win the SEC CG Saturday in a VERY similar fashion....because he is simply not as tuned in during the game as Smart is. Sark is very good coach but being in EVERY moment, whether its a time out to stop a fake punt or a holding call that had some nuance is the difference between being very good and elite....

It wasn't targeting. It was called on the field, reviewed and reversed.
What is telling about that play is this is how UGA wins. They are tough and battle hardened. Not only did QB2 hold onto the ball when anyone would have given him the benefit of the doubt had he not the Rabun County toughness got him up immediately and then, in a display of sho-nuff physical toughness and mental toughness Carson Beck comes in the game, dragging his right arm, and everybody in the state knows what's about to happen and Etienne, from 4 yards out, follows a lead block between the tackles through a MASSIVE hole in the Texas defensive line. This is why UGA wins as often as they do....they are tougher than shoe leather physically and mentally. Stockton took a MASSIVE hit - good, clean, football hit....held onto the ball, bounced up and a poor one armed bastard comes in, takes the snap, and UGA does what UGA does....forces their will on really good football teams. It was text book hard nosed physical football from the tackle to the winning TD.....gotta love it even if your team did take the L.....

You’re talking about something totally different, yes Kirby is very good with strategy, time-management, timeouts. It’s the constant complaining to the refs between every play that i hate, and it works- which i hate even more.
