Three come to mind. Ken Griffey Jr, Earl Campbell, and Tracy McGrady. Robbed of ability and time. It’s wild how quickly injury can breakdown a superstar into a shell of themselves. Just recently Texas had a 5 star safety by the name of BJ Foster, Freshman All American, murderer on the field. By his Jr year his shoulders were gone. He’d play with one arm at times. Most people just remember him for missing a one armed tackle on CeeDee Lamb, he would have knocked his dreads off when healthy. Think he ended up transferring to SHSU after his Sr Season.

Most LSU fans will agree with me here:

Travonte Valentine

Dude was a legend before he took the field unfortunately he never stepped on it for us.

How was Earl Campbell robbed by injury? I know he has had terrible health since he retired but I remember him as a locomotive for years in the NFL.

Earl Campbell was the 2nd greatest running back of all time

the first was Marcus Allen

Marcus Allen wears Barry sanders pajamas. Barry sanders is better in every category.

For the vast majority of Alabama fans the answer is going to be Tyrone Prothro. Had he not broke his leg against Florida he would have emerged from that game as a Heisman contender and might have even made it to New York. He wouldn't have won but he could have been a finalist just based on the way he played in those first five games.

2nded. Many folks don't know that they came close to amputating his lower leg after his 2nd injury vs Tennessee. It was that horroffic of an injury.
