Easy fix - if you stop play because you’re injured, you can’t return to the game for that series or maybe an entire quarter or a half.

Then the SEC office threatened to fine coaches and it stopped.
Lane wants harsher rules so his offense can go fast. But they won't change the rules so he uses it to draw attention to it and knows it will be used against him.
It is crazy some of y'all can't figure this out.

A trip to tent and purple nurples from Bill Romanowski, that'll slow it down.

Don't even know why people are still faking injuries. Just keep some squirrels on the sideline and release them when you need to stop the clock or disrupt your opponent's momentum.

You guys sound insane trying to sell us Lane’s BS explanation for that bush league crap. Just own it. You guys fake the most injuries, so what?

It's just an Ole Miss fan excuse so...

It stopped after the rule was changed. Was it just magic?
It's not a BS explanation. It is exactly what he advocated for.

That is up for discussion this year by the rules committee, having player sit out for remainder of series unless it’s the QB or the player on D w the green dot.

Except no rule changed

Kiffin also got plenty of retribution from opponents playing his beep, beep offense. I did think it was funny when Ole Miss players were dropping vs old man Kentucky. Now that's what you call blatant.

You sure about that?

Punishments laid out in Sankey's memo include the following: for the first offense, a head coach receives a public reprimand and a $50,000 fine; for the second offense, another reprimand and a $100,000 fine; for a third offense, another reprimand and the coach will be suspended for his program's next game.

That wasn't technically a rule change, it was basically just a warning memo from Sankey.
It could also be argued that it was directed in large part toward Kiffin, hence the decrease in your fake injuries.

I wish they would do these types of ideas just so I can laugh in your faces when the inevitable happens and you lose a game due to not being able to play your best player because he had the breathe knocked out of him one play.
All because you got upset about someone faking an injury and thought it would be a good idea to punish anyone who gets injured.
Please please please let this happen.

-Make it stackable - Rest of the series, then quarter, then 2, and so on.
-You can offset with a timeout once a half

Yep, when I think about how they can make the game better, having coaches spend timeouts in order to keep players on the field is what I think of also.

Yeah this is the first year he’s done this to such an extent. But there was no reason for Ole Miss to be faking injuries against wake forest. Not sure if the goal was to stop other teams from doing it to us or if he was like “well if they won’t enforce anything might as well do it every time a team gets an explosive play”.

Lame Quiffin proved.... you don't get free TOs with faking injuries. Seems like the type that would have a lot of faking going on around him.

Your starting QB gets some dirt in his eye on the first play and has to go to the sideline to get it washed out and he is done for the half?
Or on the final drive of the game... for maybe a contact that fell out? No time outs left if there is a timeout exception to get them back in the game? These sound great in theory but you run enough scenarios, there can be some major moments affected by this rule.
I prefer the 3 guys in a bar type review. Have them send a video of the guy going down and have them call BS or not. Assess an unsportsmanlike penalty based off of that. At least you have a group of people decide in real time whether the injury smells right or not. Because that is what is causing all of this to be brought up. People seeing this shite and knowing right away that an injury smells really bad.
