culture is a powerful thing. It's 100% crystal clear that this is simply not the same culture that saban built. having a drunk mongoloid retard like RTW not sipmly be around your program, but an active part of it, would be unheard of in years' past. Malachi moore throwing a hissy fit tantrum on the field and refusing the coach's demand to come off would have led to an arse chewing the likes of which may never be seen again.

Bama still has a top 3 most talented roster in the sport. They have good coaches, great players, great facilities, lots of money, etc. So they aren't going to slip to 8-4 anytime soon. But it's quite clear their heyday of 2008-2020 are definitely over and not coming back.

Should this end up going the way every non-Bama fan on this board is hoping and praying that it will, the exact moment of our downfall would be when we forced a Vandy punt early in the game and could have potentially gone down to score and get ourselves back in the driver's seat, but instead we fielded two players with the same number, gave them the ball back on one of the stupidest penalties I've ever seen, and the rest is history. That would be the moment.

It worked against Georgia. Maybe playing smart kids is Deboer’s achilles heel. If so we will be fine the rest of the season.

This was the moment. Everything else went downhill as Saban threw in the towel with the writing on the wall of NIL and TP solidified and normalized in off-season 2024:

Meh, people like Willie. He has nothing to do with anything.

Lol- saw this somewhere a week or two back, but the poster that said Willie was no different than 80% of Bama fans was spot on in accuracy.

A subtle little we are as good as vandy brag? That’s just sad.

he's a distraction. When you think "winning culture. Mental toughness. Preparedness. Dominate the opponent. etc etc etc"....do you think of that slobbering moron? Probably not.

Back in the day a portion of our fanbase used to get absolutely livid during fall camp whenever Richt would call for a surprise pool day. We'd be in the leadup to the new year, practice is grueling, emotions are high, and out of nowhere Richt would cancel practice one day and take them to the pool at the student center to frolic around. Many people thought it was great! Give the kids a break and let em relax a bit. But others (and some of our rivals I'm sure) basically laughed and said it showed where our priorities were (or in this case, weren't). Guys like saban and meyer were giving guys hell and making their team better by the minute while we were jumping off high dives. There was nothing inherently "wrong" with it...but it just illustrated that being the most dominant, will crushing, soul harvesting juggernaut in America probably wasn't richt's #1 priority. And having distractions like this clown be around your program giving speeches to players shows that maybe CKD needs to rethink who he puts at the forefront and what message he's trying to send.

The Bama decline started with the cancellation of the Running of the Gumps

You Horns are pretty desperate to be relevant. Attention whoring when you are #1 is a sad look.

I'm surprised more people haven't talked about that. Attention to detail seems lacking.

Who is he distracting? Do you think that Willie is just hanging out all day at the athletic facility and with the players and shite?

Pretty big reach there. Willie made an appearance at a spring practice and was a guest at a few recruiting events. Not exactly a pool party.

I still think our defense leaving some time around Pruitt leaving was the beginning of the end.

After '17, we've had nothing but defensive woes.
